THESIS : FOREST RESORT AT POLO FOREST LOCATION : POLO FOREST , HIMMATNAGAR, GUJARAT SITE AREA : 38,000 SQM YEAR : 2016-2017 The project is to understand the functioning and design aspects of forest resort and design solution for the proposed forest resort at Polo Forest, Vijaynagar including Eco tourism which is a new concept for the tourism industry in Gujarat. Polo forest lies in the hilly areas of vijaynagar in Sabarkantha District of Gujarat. This area is noted for its archaeological heritage and about 145 km from Ahmedabad. Ecotourism is the key driver in the development of tourism in Idar, Vijaynagar and Polo. All places are situated in the northern part of the Sabarkantha district in North Gujarat. Shamlaji is a well known pilgrimage place surrounded by eye catching greenery, Vijaynagar is another unexplored hill station with some beautiful old monuments and Idar is a potential site for adventure sports in a mountain area. The area is surrounded with ecologically important Shiv Temple at Sharneshwar, Sadevant Shavelings Deras, Surya Mandir, Lakhena Temple,Harnav river, Jain derasar, the ancient Polo Jain Nagri. Polo festival is a great way to experience the beauty of polo forest being organized by the government of Gujarat. People can enjoy staying in luxury tents and at the same time people can enjoy exploring the beautiful nature around. The name Polo is derived from the Marwari word ‘Pol’ which means gate. The location of the township makes it a gateway between Gujarat and Rajasthan states. The Polo Forest’s ancient ruins include forts, cenotaphs, temples and other structures. During winter, all manner of migratory birds occupies the forest, during the rainy season there are wetland birds.

URBAN DESIGN : LAKE FRONT DEVELOPMENT LOCATION : PETLAD , CHAROTAR, GUJARAT SITE AREA : 54,000 SQM YEAR : 2015-2016 PROJECT INTRODUCTION In Petlad Ranchodrai temple is the main landmark of the city as well as recreational activity for the people. It has main commercial spine in front of the temple. Petlad attracts a high footfall due to its religious, educational and commercial aspects. It acts as a service town for the nearby villages and town. AIM “To give a space to people of Petlad and surrounding villages where they can come and enjoy recreational and cultural activities.” OBJEVTIVE Improving the GHAT and to develop an open space and the immediate context, involving streetscape.

OPPORTUNITIES To develop an open space where all citizens participate in recreational and cultural activities for the future development. To cater a dened allocation of spaces for hawkers and vendors to avoid congestion. Parking facilities for those people who all are visiting temple and APMC market. Recreational space for people who are coming from other villages to visit ranchhodrai temple. The commercial market is situated close to the State Highway connecting Anand and Khambhat and near the transit hub, BusDepot and Railway Station. Since, Petlad acts as a service town for the neighbouring villages, the location of commercial area is ideal for commuters. There are two large scale whole-sale market in town AMPC MARKET and GANJ.

Phase 1 Phase 2 Phase 3

Phase 1 Ranchodrai temple acts as a centre of the town. It is comparatively more crowded during the time of aarti, and therefore it also increses the footfall in and around APMC market . Phase 1 will include a dedicated and organised for hawkers and vendors and recreational space for devotes who visit the temple and also for people who come to shop from nearby villages and towns.

Phase 2

Phase 3

Petlad’s main issue is lack of recreational space . Petlad acts as a service town for nearby villages, hence a space was needed for all these people to relax and unwind . Petlad also needed the organised “khaugalli”.

To tackle the issue of lack of street interface, unorganised parking, trafc congestion and to make it more user friendly the commercial spine has been redesigned.

Phase 2 includes open/semi open recreational spaces for senior citizen , children and people coming to petlad, and an organised space for food hawkers and stalls to stand.

HOUSING PROJECT LOCATION : AKSA BEACH, MUMBAI SITE AREA : 82,220 SQM YEAR : 2015-2016

The brief was to Design a Housing Complex that needed us to select any four typologies from 1-4BHK and Villa’s. The site is near Aksa Beach. It is accessible from Malad (W) station by select BEST buses from Borivali railway station, an route to Madh Island, and also by private transport and auto rickshaws. The beach is approximately 9 km from Malad station and 12 km from Borivali. It can also be reached from Andheri (West) railway station by BEST buses from Versova bus stop. This beach has INS Hamla (a base of the Indian Navy) at one end and a small beach called "Dana Paani". The typologies included in my Design was 23BHKapartments and 4BHK grandeur villa. The Master Layout is designed in such a way that all the apartments can get maximum view of the beach. With so many typologies, way ď€ nding is a huge factor to be taken into consideration, hence the planning is kept simple and Practical. The units are designed to give maximum Ventilation and take in the advantage of the sea views and natural light and wind, without compromising on the size and luxury of the spaces. The units are Spacious and oozes Opulence.

Aksa Beach is a popular beach and a vacation spot in Aksa village at Malad, Mumbai,India. It is situated close to Malvani. It is a popular weekend destination with youngsters. It is dotted with many private cottages and hotels, some of which are rented out to tourists and visitors.

INSTITUTE (ARCHITECTURE COLLEGE) LOCATION : VAPI, GUJARAT SITE AREA : 82,220 SQM YEAR : 2013-2014

The brief of the Institutional studio was to design an Architecture college for a capacity of 250 people. The site area was around 1900 sq.mt with cold dry climate and contoured site at Vapi. Unlike other colleges, Design college expects a certain freedom in its design. The spaces need to inspire and let the students interact and feel free and relaxed instead of feeling restricted by the usual monotonous designs of Institutes. The Landscape needs to be smartly designed to perfectly amalgamate architecture with Landscape, bringing outside to the inside. Site is prone to strong wind currents as it is geographically located near the seacoast. The prime importance was to focus the design towards connecting the area which can connect the students easily. The students get enough space for study. Here I have given the studio in four corners and in the middle there is the exhibition area and above there is the library area which students can access it easily. than there is the canteen on upper oor nd below it there is the spill over area where students can sit and use it as canteen. The workshops have the open space so that students can work out side and the Auditorium is in the basement .
