Surfacing of many contradictions a complex structure in which disparate forms of architecture and built paraphernalia coexists in close proximity to each other there by creating some some bizarre visual and physical adjacencies .
The workshop organized by National Information Centre of Earthquake Engineering (NICEE) at IIT-K for UG students of architecture in earthquake resistant design practices is a research based strategic learning opportunity that consisted of various studios lectures by professionals on strategies for earthquake design architecture and a design competition. The workshop benefited to cognize the Earthquake Design Concepts and provided a platform for the synergisation of architecture students and structural engineers.

The Documentation looked at a small village, Sarve located in the Konkan district of Maharashtra . The study included mapping the entire village, it’s housing typologies, articulation of spaces with respect to the communities which prevailed in the village and other services. The main objective was to comprehend the community character of the village, its diversity that coexisted it’s influence on the architectural attributes that coalesced the village and it's neighborhood.

Village Sarve is located in the Raigarh district of Maharashtra that consists of many slum settlements and clusters of unplanned housing forming a neighborhood with small shops and streets which accommodates various social and domestic activities.
Understanding Typologies The project was an attempt to improve social harmony at the time of rising social life by developing an architectural vocabulary pertaining to the village Sarve. The project tries to achieve these goals by creating a common platform to promote social gatherings and cohesive social relationships.
