SITE Proposing an intervention using aggregated surfaces whose essence lies in fashion. The surface becomes the garment, the Highline and the structure next to it become the body. Like garment, the surface wraps and envelopes and in turn transforms the structure, acts as a veil, accentuates the view from the Highline and displays the latest trends from the upcoming fashion institutes.

LINES OF CHANGE
Study of water and lines of change is done, over a period of time, in order to observe material change. These lines are then converted into a surface and the forces acting on the surface and its tearability are studied.

FORCE DIAGRAM
Application of forces on the surfaces produces various affects such as crumpling, pleating, rupturing and twisting. Due to these affects, when an aggregation of surfaces are put together , these surfaces start to wrap and envelop each other.

ENVELOPES
While wrapping and enveloping the surfaces slump and slide into each other and form a continuity pattern. This aids in forming a circulation path within the surfaces.

Fashion as i interpret it is a relationship between body, garment and culture. Man uses garments to cover his body and in the past culture has dominated what body parts should be covered and how. These concepts are being interpreted and adapted in the present fashion scenario as well. The ďŹ ve relationships derived out of fashion, body and garment are: Veil, unveil, transform, accentuate and display. Highline can also be studied on similar lines as it unveils and opens up to its surroundings and further ahead it gets veiled by the buildings and greenery around it. At the cross section of 26th street and 10th avenue the Highline has a frame and a sit out. The frame looks out at the street beyond, but after a while the view becomes monotonous.

The surfaces act as a veil internally and externally. They form a tunnel effect and accentuate the veiling and the unveiling quality of Highline.
