FontanaArte was founded in 1932 by architect Gio Ponti. Today, the Italian company manufactures lamps and furniture that unify beauty and functionality with modern technologies.

Salone del Mobile


At its foundation, the FontanaArte became popular with glass work and glass design, especially with artistically designed windows, e.g. in churches and cathedrals.

While working with glass, Gio Ponti realised the material’s potential for private sectors of interior design. Encouraged by his intuition, Ponti began designing and producing furniture, lamps and other objects. Glass as a material was the unifying element.


FontanaArte is an Italian design company that has of light and furnishings� in Italy and worldwide. Born architect, the company has always kept strong ties gradually involving leading Italian and internationa designers.

Geometrical Shapes shape-from-shadows We begin our discussion with a qualitative description of how to shadows are created on geometrical shapes. Attached shadow regions contain points on a surface that face away from a light source. We combined the geometrical shapes with color and shadow to show each designs smooth.

Light often describes the light source or light reflected within the composition. In realistic compositions, if there is light, there is shadow. Possible characteristics: chiaroscuro, brilliant, bright, dark, shadows, shade, diffused, dim, filtered, illuminated, clear, highlights, foggy, mystical, realistic, imaginary.
