What’s Hand Woven?
A colour story it is, for weaves coming up
Layer on layer, I am but a simple double cloth based on the Oars Old colour story.
I am the face of a stitched double. I have a stitch point in my weave design to ease out product construction.
A Multi-layered cloth I am. I have four layers back to back of the same colour and same weave.
Just flip the Stitched Double Cloth, and that’s me. I am made of plain twill weave with colours bright, warm and merry.
Hi, I am a pile fabric, I am designed in such a way that some parts of me are looped while some piles are cut to create a soft furry surface.
A Block drafted stripe, that’s me. I belong to the stripe family because of my weave and not my colour. The Block drafting done before my birth makes me different.
Chindi, that’s my good name. I was born out of a plain weave using torn tie-dyed cloth.
Hey, I am a checked woven fabric. I was born out of block drafting too. my existance is dedicated to your bedroom curtains or your living room sofa’s cushion cover.

I am the look board for Anwesha’s cushion collection. Just as I exhibit, the collection necessrily consists of Three design ideations. The first one being Center Gathered has been made in black and white bothe colours. The second one is inspired from a male shirt. Unlike the rest of the designs, this one is front open with buttons as fasteners, resembling a real shirt. The third design resembles a box pleated skirt. This cushion cover interestingly has two layers, the first one being a plain cover and the second being the skirt stitched over it. The skirt can be pulled up to see the inner cover just like a real skirt.

A collection that perfectly talks of the balance created when opposites shake hands.The collection is inspired by the Chinese theory of Yin-Yang which talks in length about the balance created by opposites. To exhibit the theme in the best possible way, Anwesha has taken classic examples of opposites be it in terms of colour or in terms of depictions. The black and the white narrates the story of how the existances of light and darkness are actually dependant on each other ; while the use of a male shirt and a female skirt silhouttes clearly demonstrate the fact that men and women are not equal but perfectly complementary to each other.

Hunting every nook and crany of the college campus, I was found, an inspiration to Anwesha’s print collection. I am young and beautiful, a shrub of hibiscus.
I am the original master surface, created out of bits and pieces of the different views penned, of the hibiscus plant.
When the master surface was treated by different mediums and styles, I was born. A part of me is water paint washed and another pencil coloured, I also have solid colouring and texturing.
Hey, it’s me, the final master surface. I am a mix and match of two colour treatments with features pole apart using the same set of water colours.
I am a set of butis of varies sizes to be used as coordinates.
A couple of borders, thick and thin of varing rhythm and style, that’s just what I exhibit with pride.

Tie-Dye & Dry:- A fun surface play it was for Anwesha.
“Just wrap them around� -an initiative to revive the wrap dress culture it is. Just have a look at he flat sketches of the wrap around skirt and top right next, yea, that’s me! The fundamental techniques that were thought of while ideating, were patchwork, braiding and block printing. The fabrics used in the process were a mix and match of plain cotton with denim. The garment targets youth minds who are bold and confident enough to embrace their own body shape like the trend setters and fashion bloggers maybe! A simple festive wear that aspires to be your personal favorite, it is this.
