“If outside is so good, why has mankind spent thousands of years trying to perfect inside?” (Sheldon Cooper , Big Bang Theory season3 EP.12) It all begin with just a normal scene from a normal series, but this sentence immediately catch my attention and made me think over it again and again. From the very beginning, there is only the vast world of nature where all life began in the plain, there is no ‘outdoor’ or ‘indoor’ to separated this two world. However, because nature made it impossible for them to survived in open space, all life forms were force to adapted for their survival. Humans began to find and develop their shelter in order to protected themselves from all form of natural disaster. Nevertheless, humans are complicated creatures. Although we detested nature for harming our life, we are also mesmerised by the aesthetic of the nature and yearn for it. We repelled nature as a separated world by building our shelter. However, we also wish to keep the world nature close within our reach. The complexity that mankind has created for ourselves also bring me back to this quote and made me think to myself : If what made mankind spent thousands of year trying to perfected the inside is because of their longing for nature, what can be done to perfect the outside world to the pointed that humans would want to be outdoor just as much as they want to be indoor?

As an architecture student from Chulalongkorn University, the reason why I chose this career path is because it is a career that gave me the chance to fulfilled our client dream and passion. They might be starting up business or doing some society project and need someone to make their dream idea come true. I love the idea that I can combine my idea with someone else and turn that dreams into reality. Being a landscape architecture student also change my perspective toward things. Before I was only looking at the aesthetic aspect of the project but studying landscape also increased my concern about site capability, people's interactions toward the site to the tiniest possibility and realised the increasing importance of environment. Which add another advantages of being a landscape architecture that this is a job where I can create and give back benefits to nature and maintain the balance of our ecosystems. koh sichang is the island in chonburi, thailand that located royal summer palace built by king rama V. This project is about planning the five start resort and villa for high-en customer. The site is located near the summer palace on the foot of the rock slope hill which have coastalplain and watershed in the boundary. Which is why water drainage, slope and perspective from different level are important things to concern in planning. not every resort was located near the royal resident. so, the concept of this project is ‘CHAO WANG’ which mean the people who live in palace. The design aims to make the villa and the landscape around the resort similar to the traditional palace in king rama V period. The only way to come to this resort is by boat riding so we create the pier of our project that look like the old traditional pier in the summer palace near us to make the customer feel like they are staying in the old traditional palace. the project was separate to 5 zones. First, the welcome zone from the pier to the lobby, upper the lobby is the villa suite(C class). Next to villa suite around the middle of this project is the main facility that is use to dispart the type of the villa, the main facility is the special restaurant, spa, club house, and the all-day restaurant that included the cooking school. The upper another side of the main facility is the Villa deluxe(B class) that have 2 perspective; sea view and garden view. on the cliff is located the pool villa(A class) which is the most expensive in our resort. between every pool villa we use the white screen to give each pool villa more privacy.

according to the limited space of dusit zoo, located in the middle of Bangkok, the numbers of the animals have increased regularly which caused the zoo to become a crowded space for animal. so, dusit zoo decided to move some of animal to another children zoo which located in thawi watthana district in bangkok. the zoo was located in the middle of the resident area of Bangkok near the main canal of the district. however, the thawi watthana district barely has the green urban space. which bring us to the concept of “The lost world zoo�

the zoo was separate to 5 zones; café, welcome area, park, exhibition and service centre. In the middle of the site is the park and the reservation pond that link to the canal outside the zoo. moreover in the staff service area which has staff house, water treatment area, animal food plant, animal hospital and storage of the zoo. we separate this part from the zoo to prevent the staffs from bringing the animal cub out of this zoo.

sing-buri is one of the central provinces of thailand, located in the north of bangkok. sing-Buri is situated on a flat river plain of the chao phraya river valley that is often flooded. the river plays the important role for the people of sing-buri. In the past, the house was built in the Thai’s traditional style made with woods; the ground floor of the house is left as an open-air basement and the actually living space is situated on the first floor.
this specialise architectural house planed was especially crucial due to the location and the waterfront life style of the inhabitants, as the chao phraya river was often flooded, having an open air basement and living quarter above ground prevent the lives of the inhabitant from being effect by nature. however, this is not the case for the present as many houses was built in the modern style without the open-air basement, causing the house to be flooded when the Chao Praya’s river raise up. in order to prevent flooding, sing-buri’s council built the 2.8 meters tall dam along the chao phraya river 40 years ago, disconnecting the land and the river , and as a consequence, cause the waterfront lifestyle to disappear from Sing-Buri and obstructing the view from the important wilaichit Rd. ; which many government building and commercial areas are being located here. the road is also where many important festivals (both local and urban scale) are being held along the road. in addition, “the old city hall”; built in 1910 and conserved by the Fine Arts Department was also situated on this road.

wilaichit rd. also has many gathering areas for sing-buri people; such as Temple, old city hall and the biggest department store in sing-buri. the urban and government area were located on the North-side of the road where as the local and residential area were located on the South-side. if one were to look from above, there existed a big contrast in both life style and architectural planning between the two zone despite the road being connected. additionally, the dam which disconnected the people from the chao praya river that represent the unique lifestyle of sing-buri is acting as a wall that one must overcome. for all of the reason that mentioned above, “blending edge� is the main concept for the urban space along this road. The aims of this project is to blend the edge between LOCAL-URBAN and RIVER-LAND, and to bring the waterfront lifestyle back to sing-buri.

we design according to the concept; “BLEDING EDGE� by blending the activities between two different zones in these three nodes. we also blend the dam and the river by planting the water-plant to make the edge look softer. the design aim to bring man closer to nature. though there was an existing dam, we elevated the dam’s ground for people to see the river and we also dig ponds in every nodes so that when the water comes up, it filled all the ponds the street market/night market is placed in front of the commercial areas, company and the biggest hotel in Sing-Buri. in the weekdays, the small boxes will be a small social gathering for meetings and picnics but in the weekend or any special events, the boxes will change into stores and there will be the bike-path over the roof.

swang-Arom temple is the heart of the local people that are living along this road. The temple is very known by “NANG-YAI� (thai traditional art) which draw the people’s attention to visit the temple. in front of the temple there is a sand-beach which appear when the tide is low in the summer time. people in Sing-Buri usually go down to the sand beach to hang-out and in April, this beach is hosting the biggest Songkarn festival in sing-buri. +10.00 +7.00

“THE TRUST FOUNDATION� is a CSR project that have been establish by private organization. The propose of this project is to produce positive impact and benefits to society while making enough profits to corporate themselves at the same time. the foundation, located in the long rectangle-shape site, has many facility and many space for being the community Centre in a part of Bangkok. nowadays people love to find a good place to take photos and posted on social medias. according to that, the seasonal flowering plants were chosen for the main planting concept of this park to create more dynamic scenery while drawing a large number of visitors at the same time. we use the flowering trees that bloom in different season to create a different scenery in every month.

the amount of heavy rain has been a reoccurring problem which has cause a tremendous effect on the Thai’s lifestyle, especially in regarding to our health. this is because our country drainage system is not up to standard and often cause flooding throughout the city. that has increased the possibility of highly contagious bateria that travels through the water. so, we create the natural retaining wall around the foundation to be a part of landscape and also help us to fix the flooding problem by natural way.

THE SQUARE’S PROCESS
according to barely riverside system in Milan, the government want to reconstruct the Melchiore Gioia to open Navigli canals that locate under the road and create the new outdoor public space as the new node of this new business district in milan. the Melchiore Gioia is the weight long road that link to the outskirts by the bike path beside Navigli canals. people in milan only use this road just to pass to other places because there is not much activities to do in this road and the trees are barely grow along the road. therefore, the ‘slow mobility’ urban outdoor public space concept is chosen to develop the area. the recreation of the road to change human’s habits to slow mobility by planting big trees along the road to reduce the island’s heat effect and create the better perspective of this road. and also create more space for the store beside the canal to appeal people by using some material in some area such as replace cobble stone some part of the road and reduce the car lane to make the car drive slower and reduce noise. moreover we renovate the old gas-station to become a small park, the water feature was chosen to be the main feature of this area. From the road to the park is a staircase, some part of the park was sunk to separate from the road and bring the water from the canal to the waterfall feature to produce more oxygen in the water and create the cozy atmosphere by water sound and the green area around the park. We also place some area for store and pavilion in the park to serve people who come to this place to enjoy their outdoor activity in the new urban space of the new business district of milan.
