AfriBeads is a socially proactive business.
Our mission is to create a market for the products made by the people of Uganda, thus creating employment and funds to help the AfriBeads artisans have a regular and on-going income, and to raise money to improve the lives of people in Uganda

THE ARTISANS
AfriBeads are made by a group of 30 women in Kampala, Uganda called the AfriBeads Women’s Association
AfriBeads is working to protect vulnerable children. These children have parents living in poverty who can’t afford to send them to school. Many millions of people live in extreme poverty in Africa
AfriBeads creates hope for Ugandan women and children by providing a market for the beautiful traditional crafts they make
HOW THE PRODUCTS ARE MADE
AfriBeads jewellery is a recycled product made of paper discarded from printing businesses in Kampala. The beads are triangles of paper rolled from the end of the triangle to the tip, and varnished They are then created into these unique accessories
The basketware is hand-woven out of banana leaf and raphia, using an age old weaving technique and traditional African designs.
To make the fashion range, gorgeous African cotton fabrics are sewn on old-fashioned treadle machines These fabrics are also used for the shopping bags and aprons
The wax wraps incorporate natural bees wax. As each piece is hand made by the artisan, each one is totally individual.
