Implementation Action Plan

Resilient Development Plan

Implementation Action Plan

1. Site Control

2. FDOT/COJ Coordination on Ocean Street (including low cost demonstration/tactical urbanism project)

3. Grants/Funding

4. Integrate ‘living shoreline’ into dock construction

5. Capitalize on the unprecedented laws and $116.5 billion budget approved by the Florida Legislature, including the following specific items:

1. § HB 102 making changes to try to expand affordable housing, including boosting funding for housing and rental programs, providing incentives for investment and encouraging mixed-use developments in struggling commercial areas

1. § SB 106, designating $200 million to prioritize the development of “regionally significant trails” which are defined as trails crossing multiple counties; serving economic and ecotourism development; showcasing the state’s wildlife areas, ecology, and natural resources; and serving as main corridors for trail connectedness across the state

1. § SB 240, offering tax breaks for businesses that employ apprentices or pre-apprentices (considering need to expand maritime-based vocational training)
