2024 Student Dedicated Multimedia Session Rules & Guidelines Deadline: Feb. 16, 2024 Presentation sessions are a valuable opportunity for students to present their work in a multimedia format of their choice, with a Q&A opportunity at the end of the session. Multimedia Session Rules ● All entries must represent original, individual student work. The topic can be individual research, individual or team projects (one submittal per team project), or professional/intern work experience. ● Your submission must be endorsed by a faculty member at your university. • You will be required to submit the faculty member’s name and email address in the form. ● Each student will have 3-5 minutes (depending on the number of overall submissions received) to present their work in a multimedia format of their choice. ● Formats include but are not limited to traditional PowerPoint presentations, GIS story maps, and short interactive activities. ● Submittals will be required to provide the following when applying: • Media type • A five sentence or less summary of the project to be presented • Title of session • Availability to present Multimedia Session Guidelines ● Avoid acronyms and jargon. Simple language is best. ● Use simple graphics. Charts, drawings, and illustrations should be limited to a 2-3 color palette at a resolution of at least 300 dpi. ● Provide author name(s), organization logos and/or other acknowledgments to give credit to those who have done the work
