The space of the river walk developed in relationship to building scale, form and massing. ‘Control sections’ inform the design of various edge conditions taking into account proximities to landscape, water and people to generate distinct sensory experiences. A 3D virtual reality immersive walkthrough was designed as a way for the client to participate in and engage with the design process.

_shift
the pattern..the mindset..the norm
Design competition for affordable single family homes leveraging the innovative technology of 3D printing in construction. Team AZA proposed the design of a ‘living’ community. Inter-generational, flexible, adaptable and resilient to shifting needs over time. Inspired by the ‘hofje’ typology the urban form creates a taller edge along the street and steps down into the inner courtyard space. A series of sight lines from an internal balcony foster communication between neighbors while generating a sense of security akin to the concept of ‘eyes of the street’. s

Diversity In Architecture : DreamWeek SA Organizers: Overland Partners + Dreamweek Team Role: Panelist
The annual DreamWeek Summit in San Antonio, comprises a series of events designed with a singular purpose in mind: to foster the free exchange of ideas on universal issues affecting the human race. The aim is to invite all to participate in an open forum where realworld issues are discussed in a well-balanced manner, with the understanding that the truest voices will always prevail. The ‘Diversity in Architecture’ panel discussed challenges that people of color face in the design profession. Aiming to uncover and address systemic factors that influence workplace culture, the session also focused on the value of diversity in the business of architecture and design.
