FAQs When is the Spring/Summer 2016 StartSwell program? It will run from December 30, 2015, through June 30, 2016. What do I get when I earn StartSwell? Through StartSwell, new Consultants can earn free products and business supplies during their first 120 days as a Consultant. Earning periods are divided into 30-day segments. When you submit $600 Personal Volume* (PV) during one of those 30-day periods, you will get to choose one of six kits consisting of products that will help you in your Thirty-One Gifts business. For each level earned, you’ll also receive pre-selected business supplies that will set you up for success, and – for any new Consultant who joins March 1, 2016, or later – a $14.95 credit will be added to your next commission check, covering the cost of one month of your Website/Customer Email Subscription .

Submit $600 Personal Volume (PV) in each 30-day period of your first 120 days: ● Earn Level 1: Submit $600 in PV* in your first 30 days (starting the day after you enroll) (days 1-30) ● Earn Level 2: Submit $600 in PV* in your second 30 days (days 31-60) ● Earn Level 3: Submit $600 in PV* in your third 30 days (days 61-90)
● Earn Level 4: Submit $600 in PV* in your fourth 30 days (days 91-120)
*Personal Volume (PV) equals party and retail orders only. What do I do when I earn a StartSwell level? 1. Once you earn a StartSwell level, a hyperlink will appear under the level earned on your StartSwell tracker on the TOT dashboard . 2. Click the hyperlink. 3. On the page that opens, simply click on one of the kit options. 4. A selection confirmation screen will let you know that your choice has been made. 5. Click "Go to My Dashboard” to return to your dashboard. How long do I have to choose my kit? You will have 30 days from the end of your earning period to select a kit. Can I add personalization to any products in my kit? No. Any personalization in your kit has been pre-selected. Please refer to the StartSwell Flier you received in your Enrollment Kit or the StartSwell page on TOT to see which items come with personalization. When will I receive my kit? Your kit will be processed within 5-7 business days. Once your order is processed and has shipped, you will be able to view the order in your order history (this is when the order will appear in your Virtual Office). If I don’t earn a level, am I still eligible to earn other levels later in my StartSwell period? Yes! You get a new start to earn a level with each 30-day period. So if you didn’t earn during a 30-day period, you can still earn the next level during the next 30-day period as long as you meet the requirements. Why are there multiple kit choices for the StartSwell program? You have a specific “why” and goal for your business. To honor this, we wanted to help you run your business your way and offer your Customers the products they love most. Whether your Customers are shopping for themselves, their home or their family, there is a StartSwell Kit that fits their needs. How do I get the $100 bonus for new Consultants who join my team?
To earn the $100 bonus, you must sign up a new Consultant during your first 120 days AND your new Consultant must qualify by submitting $1,000 PV* in her first 90 days. The bonus will be added to your commission check the month following qualification. Is there a limit to how many $100 bonuses I can earn? No. There is no limit to the number of bonuses you can earn. However, you must sign up each new Consultant within your first 120 days and she must submit the qualifying $1,000 PV during her first 90 days. If I sell $1,200 in one month, can it count for two levels? No. Each level is independent of one another. But congratulations on a great month, and keep the momentum going! If I joined after March 1, 2016, why am I receiving a $14.95 credit with each level of StartSwell earned? This credit covers one month of the subscription cost for your Personal Replicated Website and Customer Email , both of which were created to help you grow your business. Through your personal website, your Customers can shop and order online, view your party schedule, check out the monthly specials, join your team and more. Your Hostesses can invite guests to parties and accept online orders for parties. These tools make it super easy for your Customers and Hostesses to learn more and shop Thirty-One Gifts, and as an active new Consultant, we want to reward you for partying and growing your business by providing a one-month credit for each level of StartSwell earned – up to four months total. If I joined before March 1, 2016, why won’t I receive a $14.95 credit with each level of StartSwell earned? If you joined before March 1, 2016, you automatically received a free 90-day trial period for your Personal Replicated Website and Customer Email. Because you received that free trial period, you are not eligible to earn this credit. Is there a tracker available to track my StartSwell Personal Volume earnings? Yes. A tracker is available on your TOT dashboard and on the StartSwell page . The tracker includes your start date, progress and end dates.
Supporting Your StartSwell Consultants
Start her strong - Support your Consultants through StartSwell As a sponsor, your role is to build a relationship with your new Consultant and guide her through her StartSwell earning period. By helping your new Consultant earn StartSwell, you will help build her confidence and set her up for success.So how do you support her and start her strong? By building a relationship with her as you celebrate and encourage her while StartSwell rewards her!In a 2013 Direct Sales Association (DSA) survey of 20,000 direct sellers from 61 member companies, the opportunity to be recognized and rewarded for your effort was listed as one of the top four motivators for joining a direct selling company. The StartSwell 120-day Touchpoint Plan
The StartSwell 120day Touchpoint Plan is a process to help you as you guide your new Consultant into her new business. Working through the touch-points with her will help develop the skills she’ll need while strengthening your relationship with her. During monthly touchpoints, you’ll cover topics that will help your new Consultant be successful. The touchpoints are divided into four sections: ● ● ● ●
CELEBRATE — A time to acknowledge and celebrate her growth and achievements. CONNECT — An opportunity to share the support and resources available to her. COACH/TRAIN — Provide information to build her knowledge and skills. CALL TO ACTION — Encourage her to take what she has learned and put it into action.

Connect Connect with her to make sure she: 1. Sets goals for both StartSwell and number of parties based on her desired income. 2. Connects with friends and family while offering the Hostess opportunity. 3. Reviews ThirtyOneToday.com, the Mobile App and all the other tools and resources available.
Coach/Train Review the following topics with your new Consultant: 1. Why - What’s her “why”? Will it motivate her toward growth and success? Encourage her to record her “why” under “My Goals” on her ThirtyOneToday.com dashboard . 2. Goals - What are her goals? What does she want to achieve with her new Thirty-One Gifts business? Help her set goals on her ThirtyOneToday.com dashboard so she can chart her progress! 3. Bookings - Bookings create momentum and help lead your new Consultant to success. Share the importance of bookings and how she can get started. Help her see how she can achieve her “why” by determining the number of parties she’ll need each month! 4. Hostess Coaching - Partnering with her Hostesses is another important step toward a strong start. Teach her the importance of Hostess coaching ⎯ explaining how the rewards will add up for both her and her Hostess. Remind her of the goal of 10 guests at every in-home party, and how to use Hostess Coaching to get her there. 5. Her first party. The party is the heart of her business. It’s where she meets new Hostesses and potential recruits. Share some simple and easy tips to have a successful party right from the start. The Party Experience training (under Improve My Skills ) is a great resource for her to understand W.O.W. from the very beginning!

Coach/Train Review the following topics with your new Consultant: 1. Recruiting - Recruiting is about inviting others to join you on your Thirty-One Gifts journey. Share with your new Consultant how sharing the business opportunity with others will build her team and her earning potential. 2. W.O.W.! - A great party is only a W.O.W. away – Welcome, Offer Solutions & Wrap Up for simple, shoppable and shareable fun. 3. Make the most of the Catalog. The Catalog is a fabulous display of what Thirty-One Gifts has to offer Customers with the Just for You, For your Home and For your Family chapters. Help her understand how to use the Catalog as a powerful selling, booking and recruiting tool.
Call to action Action steps to take before the next touchpoint: 1. Have her invite a friend or potential team member to join her at her next party. This is a great way to begin building her recruiting skills and for her friend to get excited about joining. 2. Encourage her to share her business while out and about using the Catalog and other tools with potential Customers and recruits. 3. Have her create three booking and three recruiting seeds to use at her upcoming parties.

Touchpoint 3 (Days 61-90) Celebrate Celebrate her progress with StartSwell, and celebrate her contact and party successes since the last touch-point. Connect Connect with her to make sure she: 1. Is on track with meeting her StartSwell goals and knows which StartSwell product kit will help her most with her business. 2. Connects with new leads and invites them to host a party. 3. Encourage her to think of ways she’ll stand out while developing long-lasting relationships with Customers. 2. No Lead Left Behind - Staying connected with Customers builds loyalty and brings referrals. Share how the No Lead Left Behind tool will help her stay organized with party bookings, sales, follow-up and recruiting as she grows her business. 3. Time Management - Time management is a personal process. But there are steps she can take to balance her personal life and the time needed to have a successful Thirty-One Gifts business. Practice and deliver your 3 0-Second Commercial Always be thinking about your short list of possible next recruits. Set up meetings/calls on the spot if possible – have your calendar ready. Keep your ears open and listen for recruiting questions. Keep a stash of business cards with you at all times.
Weekly ● Plant recruiting seeds during your parties. Check out the Recruiting Seeds video from Courntey Hawkins for tips. ● Schedule time to make follow-up calls with possible recruits. ● Schedule one-on-one time with new recruits to make sure they are off to a great start.
Monthly ● Call the people on your Who Do You Know? List – these are your top potential recruits! ● Leverage recruiting incentives and promotions by reaching outside your circle. ● Host monthly recruiting calls and invite prospects to join you. ● Host monthly new Consultant team calls and invite your new recruits to join you. ● Talk to your team about the benefits of recruiting their own Consultants!
Seasonally ● Use the New Enrollment Kit to have another conversation. (New Enrollment Kits come out each season; not each month) ● Get ahead of the holidays by at least two months! Share how the opportunity can help her through the holidays.
The Recruiting Conversation
Once you’ve identified a prospect and asked her if she’d like to learn more about the Thirty-One Gifts Opportunity, invite her to join you for a cup of coffee, schedule a follow up meeting, or chat with you by phone. Make one-on-one time with her a priority so you can ask questions and listen to learn more about what’s important to her. Follow this basic outline to share the opportunity with her. ● Get to Know Her!
● During your one-on-one, don’t rush into telling her all about the opportunity. Ask questions that will help you identify her WHY. Listen, and resist the urge to comment on everything she says. ● Summarize What You Heard ● Once you’ve identified what’s most important to her, summarize what you heard her say to confirm your understanding. ● Share Your Story! ● Tell her why you joined and what you love about your business, but keep it short. Keep it under a minute and genuine. You want her to see herself being successful through your experience. ● Share Thirty-One Gifts with Her ● Think about her WHY! What about Thirty-One Gifts matches what she is looking for in her life? Talk more about those points and less about what you like. ○ Tell her a little about the company – how it started and how successful it is. ○ Tell her a little about the product – what makes it so desirable to so many. ○ Tell her how she makes money – Earn 25% on everything you sell holding parties every week. Make it a Conversation Get acquainted by asking open-ended questions. Be genuinely interested in what she says. Actively listen by making eye contact, leaning in and restating what you hear. Make it a conversation. Use these suggested questions to learn the about your prospect. Tell me about yourself and your family How long have you lived here? What do you do for fun? What type of work have you done and what did you like about it? Once you have shared the benefits of the business with your prospect and answered her questions, it’s time to invite her to join your team. Use words like these to gain a commitment: “We’ve talked about what you would like to earn, should you decide to join Thirty-One Gifts. I know we both agree that would require an income of about $X. You’ve also heard about what makes Thirty-One Gifts different and a great opportunity. What I’d like to share with you now is what successful Consultants do consistently in their businesses. ● ● ● ●
