In the category of actors who have had a number of long runs on TV series, we present for your consideration Shemar Moore. Indeed, the man who stars as LAPD team leader Daniel “Hondo” Harrelson on “S.W.A.T.,” which airs its 100th episode Sunday, April 10, on CBS, stands as the answer to a trivia question since he also did 12 seasons on “Criminal Minds,” eight on “The Young and Restless” and four as host of “Soul Train.” That’s at least 100 episodes in three series and a prized hosting gig in a fourth. “In the past I was a ‘Jeopardy’ question, which was kind of a big honor and kind of a trip,” that actor admits. “I don’t know how many episodes of television I’ve done in 28 years but I’m blessed. My acting coach has always joked that I have the Midas touch because in 28 years of working, the longest I’ve gone unemployed is four months. So yeah, it has been quite a run.” Friday’s installment finds Hondo on the lam when a deepfake video implicates him in the murder of two cops. The episode promises to have its usual bounty of action as Moore says the show filmed several helicopter stunts in downtown Los Angeles and at least one involving Hondo. Moore estimates he does about 75 percent of his stunts and after a long shooting day, the uber-fit actor says he feels all of his 51 years.
“The Kardashians”
After 20 seasons of their E! series “Keeping Up With the Kardashians,” Kris, Kourtney, Kim, Khloé, Kendall and Kylie return with this new offering that brings the cameras back into their lives to reveal the truth behind the headlines and show the pressures and joys of life as a Kardashian. “When I get out of my car at home, I literally can barely walk,” he says. “So I’ve got a Theragun to loosen up my body. I’ve got a cold plunge in my house, a sauna. I’ve got a lot of ibuprofen and Advil. I’ve got a hot tub and I’ve got a masseuse that I call in when needed. “I’m going to be 52 years old in about a month and a half, so I joke that they could have given me this job 10-15 years ago when it wouldn’t have hurt so much,” he says, laughing.
