It’s “marriage or bust” when “The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On” returns with its second season, premiering Wednesday, Aug. 23, on Netflix.

Reality romance experts Nick and Vanessa Lachey (both of “Love is Blind”) return to host another round of this relationship rodeo, in which pre-existing couples are put to the test and asked once and for all whether they will pop the question and get married or move on from the partnership permanently.

The 10-episode season allows couples to participate in an experience unlike any other, as it offers a unique opportunity: to see if the grass is really greener on the other side. During the experiment, each person will choose a new partner from the other participants, then act as husband and wife to simultaneously see what a new relationship may be like, while also experiencing a taste of married life before making any vows. At the end of eight weeks, the original couples reunite and make their final decision: to marry or move on.

This second season features five new couples, each facing the same dilemma as one wants to marry while the other does not.

Lisa, 32, and Brian, 29, have been exclusive for a year and a half after starting as a “situationship” – now, however, Brian isn’t sure if he’s ready to commit to forever. They are joined by Ryann, 24, and James, 24, high school sweethearts who have been together for almost seven years. After spending nearly a decade together, Ryann believes that James should know without a doubt whether she is “the one.” Meanwhile, Riah, 25, and Trey, 29, are only two years into their relationship. They have survived long distance and are now living together, but as Trey wants to take the next step, Riah longs for more romance in her relationship. Outdoorsy Alex, 32, is similarly unsure, as his conflict-averse girlfriend, Kat, 28, wants to get married, but he is looking for a partner more willing to challenge him. Finally, Antonio, 30, is ready to marry after four years with girlfriend Roxanne, 31. She, however, wants her husband to be more financially stable.

Powerful forces: ‘Ahsoka’ must save the universe in new Star Wars spinoff series

A fan-favorite former Jedi Knight finally gets her live-action, starring moment in the new Disney+ limited series, “Star Wars: Ahsoka,” debuting Wednesday, Aug. 23, on the streamer. Starring Rosario Dawson (“Dopesick”) in the title role, the eight-episode series follows Ahsoka Tano as she takes on the not-so-small task of protecting the galaxy from imminent threats.

Former Jedi Padawan-turned-Rebel Alliance member Ahsoka is one of the most beloved characters in the Star Wars universe among fans of the franchise’s animated films and TV series. Before Dawson’s live-action portrayal of Ahsoka in the Disney+ series “The Mandalorian” and “The Book of Boba Fett,” the character first appeared in the 2008 animated feature and subsequent TV series “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” as a teenage apprentice of Anakin Skywalker.

The new series is set just after the events of the animated series “Rebels” and in the same timeline as “The Mandalorian.” Hayden Christensen (“Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones,” 2002) reprises his role as Anakin yet again in “Ahsoka,” after appearing in 2019’s “Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker,” and bringing the character back to life in

the spinoff series “Obi-Wan Kenobi” — presumably as a Force ghost, as he is long dead in this timeline.

So, who will the baddies in “Ahsoka” be without Darth Vader to represent the dark side? Returning to portray Grand Admiral Thrawn is “The Witcher” star Lars Mikkelsen, who lent his voice to the chilling Imperial officer in “Rebels.”

Icy in demeanor and appearance — Thrawn is Chiss and his skin glows blue — he is only the tip of the villain iceberg in “Ahsoka.” Portraying even more adversaries challenging the Jedi and the universe at large are Ivanna Sakhno (“High Fidelity”) as Shin Hati, Diana Lee Inosanto (“The Last Tour,” 2016) as Magistrate Morgan Elsbeth and the late Ray Stevenson (“Das Boot”) as Baylan Skoll.

“Ahsoka” also stars Natasha Liu Bordizzo (“Day Shift,” 2022) as Sabine Wren, Mary Elizabeth Winstead (“Kate,” 2021) as Hera Syndulla, Eman Esfandi (“The Inspection,” 2022) as Ezra Bridger and David Tennant (“Doctor Who”) as the voice of droid Huyang, reprising his role from the Clone Wars series.

Portraying a character that is as cherished as Ahsoka, and held in such high regard by one of film and TV’s most active and vocal fan bases, is a daunting task. Dawson was up for the challenge, however, crediting stunt co-ordinator Ming Qiu (“Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.”) with getting her into shape when it came to wielding a lightsaber like a Jedi, as she shared on the Dagobah Dispatch podcast in May: “When [Qiu] said, ‘This one did not make my eyes hurt,’ that was the first compliment that I got, and I think I cried.”

Stunts are one thing, but harnessing the Force is another. Luckily for Dawson, that became second nature. “I feel like I have it more than someone who just wants to move an object,” explained Dawson. “I feel that there is an energy that we have, and a power that we have, that if we do concentrate it and focus it in the right ways, we can move mountains.”

Whether you’re a Rebel or a member of the dark side of the Force, buckle in and get ready for an adventure across the universe when “Ahsoka” premieres on Disney+. “Movie: Cinderella” (4K Remaster)

“Who is Erin Carter?”

Erin (Evin Ahmad) is a seemingly-ordinary British mother, wife and teacher living a dream life in Spain. But, when Erin finds herself caught up in a supermarket robbery and reveals her impressive fighting skills, her life threatens to come unraveled as her true identity bubbles closer to the surface.

“Movie: Killer Book Club”

A group of eight university students meet every week to share their passion for horror literature in a book club. When a dark secret from their past is at risk of being revealed, the book club members find their lives coming unraveled by an anonymous stalker, who has written a bloody horror novel based on them. With chapters being published one at a time on social media, one member of the group must die for each new release. Trusting no one — not even each other — the book club takes on a fight for survival in the middle of the university campus.

Elizabeth Banks of “Press Your Luck” on ABC: The recent movie she directed, “Cocaine Bear,” was inspired by the true story of a bear that ingested a large amount of cocaine that a drug smuggler had tossed out of an airplane.

Jeff Probst of “Survivor” on CBS: He had his own syndicated weekday talk show during the 201213 television season, and it included an “Ambush Adventure” segment that could be said to have been inspired by “Survivor.”

Releasing on Freevee, the sequel to the 2011 film “The Mechanic” (which was a remake of the 1972 film of the same name), catches back up with Arthur Bishop (Jason Statham) as his most formidable foe kidnaps the love of his life in order to make him complete three impossible assassinations and make them look like accidents. Jessica Alba, Tommy Lee Jones, Michelle Yeoh and Sam Hazeldine also star.

“Primal Survivor”

Seasons 1-5 of “Primal Survivor,” as well as its “Escape the Amazon,” “Mighty Mekong” and “Over the Andes” spinoffs, make their Hulu premiere. The documentary adventure franchise follows host, wilderness guide and survival instructor Hazen Audel as he tackles some of mankind’s most rigorous journeys, relying on skills learned from the area’s native inhabitants. After first living with the locals to understand their way of life, he sets out on solo journeys through territories that push him to his very limits.

“Movie: How to Blow up a Pipeline”

A group of young environmentalists plot a daring operation to sabotage an oil pipeline in West Texas. Xochitl (Ariela Barer) is a young woman concerned for her future upon seeing the growing effects of climate change within her community and family life. A flash heat wave claims the life of Xochitl’s mother, and her best friend Theo (Sasha Lane) is diagnosed with terminal cancer with suspicion it’s related to the region’s environmental pollution. Frustrated by political inaction, Xochitl pursues more radical methods, which draws the attention of friends and foes.

“Movie: Transfusion”

After a devastating loss, Ryan (Sam Worthington) and his young son Billy (Edward Carmody) are struggling to reconnect and to move forward in their lives. In a desperate attempt to protect his son from being taken away, Ryan is thrust into to the criminal underworld, where his former SAS brother runs things. As he becomes increasingly entangled in organized crime, Ryan begins to realize that the consequences of his choices may be far greater than he ever imagined.

“On the Town” (1949): For this iconic musical, legendary composer Bernstein –whose “Kaddish Symphony” will be showcased by the Chicago Symphony Orchestra on PBS’ “Great Performances” Monday, Aug. 21 (check local listings) – worked with the team of Betty Comden and Adolph Green on the songs for its original stage incarnation. Some were dropped from the movie (to Bernstein’s great displeasure), but still, the tunes help Gene Kelly (also the film’s co-director), Frank Sinatra and Jules Munshin have a blast as sailors in a 24-hour leave in “New York, New York.”

“On the Waterfront” (1954): Bernstein’s driving, Oscar-nominated score does much to

help intensify director Elia Kazan and writer Budd Schulberg’s drama of dock worker Terry Malloy’s (Marlon Brando) fight against union corruption, sparked by his role in unwittingly setting up a colleague to be killed … and also by the anger and outrage of the slain man’s sister (Eva Marie Saint) over his death.

“Omnibus” (1954-58): Though they technically were called “lectures,” Bernstein’s telecasts about various elements of music for this arts series were much more exciting than that word might suggest. With help from other musicians, he brought works by Beethoven and Bach (among others) to life, delving into what he believed their mindsets to be when

they created some of their most famous compositions.

“West Side Story” (1961): Arguably the most celebrated example of Bernstein’s music on film (with lyrics by Stephen Sondheim), the “Romeo and Juliet”-like story of young lovers on opposite sides of a turf war between two New York gangs – the Sharks and the Jets — includes some of the most famous songs ever devised for the musical theater, including “Somewhere,” “Tonight,” “America” and “I Feel Pretty.” The movie won 10 of the 11 Oscars it was nominated for, including best picture; the story and tunes also fueled the Steven Spielberg-directed 2021 version.

“The Wheel of Time: Season 2”

Fans will finally be allowed a glimpse into the multi-relationship breakdown between polygamist Kody Brown and his wives (past and present), as “Sister Wives” returns for Season 18, premiering Sunday, Aug. 20, on TLC.

“Power Book IV: Force: Season 2”

Season 2 of this “Power” spinoff sequel follows Tommy Egan (Joseph Sikora) as he leaves New York behind and takes on the Chicago drug world. This season, Tommy’s determination reaches an all-time high as he sets out on a quest for vengeance. Shane Harper, Isaac Keys, Kris D. Lofton, and Miriam A. Hyman also star.

Having started in 2010, this thoroughly binged reality series follows the life of Kody Brown, 54, a husband and father, who (according to TLC) “fell in love, then fell in love again and then again,” soon finding himself partnered with four women: Meri, Janelle, Christine and Robyn –Robyn, who joined the family in the series’ first season (and, after his divorce from Meri, is now Kody’s only legal wife).

Since then, however, a lot has changed for the busy patriarch. Season 17 marked a historic turn in Kody’s life,

as Christine announced she would be leaving Kody and their joint family in November 2021. The story unfolded further, as both Janelle and Meri announced their separation from Kody in December 2022, during the tell-all that aired following the Season 17 finale, “Sister Wives: One on One.” The last fans heard, Kody was down three wives, with only Robyn at his side.

The special episode, hosted by Sukanya Krishnan, also brought light to an ongoing feud between Kody and Christine, as Kody went on record to allege that his ex-wife was a “game player” who often caused drama throughout the family by starting confrontations. Krishnan later brought out Christine, who categorically denied Kody’s accusations, stating they were “absolutely ridiculous.”
