It’s been awhile since CBS ventured into the New Year’s Eve special programming arena, but it’s ringing in 2022 in a big way with this live five-hour musical celebration featuring some of the biggest stars in country music. TV and radio personality Bobby Bones, joined by co-host Rachel Smith of “Entertainment Tonight,” hosts the sprawling presentation, which will originate from several venues in Tennessee’s capital city.
8 p.m. on WCTI Dick Clark’s Primetime New Year’s Rockin’ Eve With Ryan Seacrest 2022
A must-see part of many revelers’ New Year’s Eve schedules, this festive event — originally conceived to be a younger-skewing alternative to Guy Lombardo’s more sedate big-band special on another network — marks its 50th anniversary, with current host Ryan Seacrest returning to his perch above Times Square in New York for the 17th time. The show stretches across five and a half hours on ABC, providing musical numbers and coverage of festivities as midnight strikes in each U.S. time zone. Cohosts include Billy Porter and Ciara.
8 p.m. on WYDO Fox’s New Year’s Eve Toast & Roast 2022
Former “Community” co-stars Joel McHale and Ken Jeong return as hosts for this live coverage of New Year’s Eve festivities from Times Square in New York, with Kelly Osborne serving as special correspondent among the revelers. The telecast will consist of two hours of primetime coverage, then resume after a one-hour break for local network affiliates. Trace Adkins is among the live performers scheduled to appear; the telecast also will feature encore performances by Imagine Dragons, Billy Idol and Maroon 5, among others, from earlier iHeartRadio specials.

In this new cooking and travel series, Guy Fieri takes wife Lori, sons Hunter and Ryder, and his nephew Jules to spend 20 days exploring Hawaii, one of Guy’s favorite places in the world. In the series premiere, “Aloha Hawaii,” their adventure begins in Maui, with a traditional Hawaiian blessing. Then Lori and Ryder take a course to get their scuba certification so the entire group can take their adventure underwater.
