THE DIGITAL CHURCH LEVELS UP Our team at Asia Pacific Media just finished the Asia Institute for Media in Ministry. Almost 150 people attended from seven nations. We had people attend from Fiji, Vanuatu, Vietnam, Bangladesh, and Japan. It was an awesome experience. We are multiplying His Message by training His church. One student said, “The professional perspective shared made the experience not only informative, but also enlightening.” Now things like AIMM just don’t happen. It takes a team. It takes God’s favor with people. It takes having a track record of serving the church over many years. And we’re in the position where we can reach more people in 2022. I believe our team will train 5,000 new workers in online media ministry. I believe that our productions will be seen by hundreds of thousands of people and shared by many across Asia. Later this year, we are planning to be back in Vietnam and for inperson training in Japan. We have this amazing moment through creative media. His Message, Multiplied can reach so many this year. In this issue of Mission Magazine, you’ll hear AIMM reports from students, updates from Japan and Myanmar, as well as new opportunities for the months to come., We’re seeing God is moving in places like Indonesia, Malaysia, Japan, and even United Arab Emirates as a result of your investment in this ministry. Thank you for partnering with us as we train the workers to multiply the Good News! 2022 Spring Update [3.]

KEITH GARNER—APMEDIA PHILIPPINES In Asia Pacific, church livestream is indispensable, especially in the Philippines. A two-year lockdown has prevented churches from meeting in person, meaning their only corporate worship has been their livestream. APMedia quickly launched a series of tutorial videos explaining a basic livestream setup using a cell phone. Those videos led to technical questions being asked so, a Facebook group was created to help supply answers. For more in-depth training, bi-weekly webinars were produced for specific technical and leadership issues. However, we also noticed that some were beginning to think that a successful livestream was the goal of a successful media ministry. We wanted to celebrate the progress that had been made, but also challenge that idea. That is why AIMM 2022 was formatted to deal exclusively with livestreaming. Just because we have developed a level of proficiency does not mean we do not have room to improve. “AIMM 2022—Up Your Game” was designed to lead the student through every stage of livestream production to hone their skills, challenge their assumptions, and inspire their creativity. The focus was not just improving technical skills, but also improving the structure of their teams and their cooperation with their pastor. When students saw the media setup of three different churches, it encouraged them to do their best with what they had but also to inspire them to dream about what is possible. Most importantly, these students were challenged to understand the purpose of their livestream as well as their media team. Thank you for helping us help the Digital Church in Asia Pacific up their game!

AIMM 2022—FROM THE STUDENTS
We celebrate the completion of the 2022 Asia Institute for Media in Ministry Online! A 🎉 sia Institute for Media in Ministry is designed for local pastors and churches to learn about effective online ministry techniques. This was a time of learning and engagement for pastors and churches across Asia Pacific. The training was focused on leveling up church livestream. We are excited to share with you what our students have to say about AIMM 2022! 😊 The training was really helpful to me and my media ministry. And I was encouraged by the Word of God that was spoken from all speakers at every devotion session. — Zang As a beginner, I’ve learned a lot through AIMM 2022. I’ve learned new things and it motivated me to try those things for God. —Katreen We couldn’t find any videos or materials online on how to solve most of the questions, but they were answered through this Church Livestream online training. It’s very useful and practical. —Quesa I’m very grateful for the seminar because we find many online, but they don’t cater to the goal we have as disciples and missionaries. I learned a lot and excited to apply it all. —Anjali Topics were relevant and informative, and especially to churches that are starting to adapt to the new normal—workers growing in their skills, growing in their heart for ministry and for God. They will reach their world. —Fernando AIMM is the almost perfect training for all levels of church media members. It highlighted what most churches are missing today—the value of media in sending His message. —Michael Your investments make it possible to host events like Asia Institute for Media in Ministry. Through AIMM, APMedia is able to invest in and train local pastors and media workers for media ministry.

FOCUS ON JAPAN
The Japan Assemblies of God have given us the open the door to speak into the minds and hearts of their leadership. Out of this, a new generation of church leaders is rising that is more tech-savvy and wants to use technology to reach their nation with His Message of Hope. So it’s an extraordinary time as we see God opening up the opportunity to multiply the Digital Church by training its leaders. Part of the reason for this growth is the work that Jonathan Lowrence and his family have done to represent APMedia in Japan. They have been working there for five years. Jonathon has been a servant, and he has served that time. And he has built incredible trust with the Church. Jonathan shares: “So many here have ambitious hearts to share Christ creatively with those who have not heard. We’re privileged to help them do that.” Earlier this year, APMedia conducted two online training sessions with the Assemblies of God of Japan, with church leaders and digital missionaries. Some attended sessions focused on establishing a social media presence, and others attended sessions on video storytelling production. The Manila-based APMedia Team continues to excel at providing sessions that incorporate rich teaching content into shorter amounts of teaching time. We see incredible growth and an increase in what they gleaned from each training opportunity. As we continue to train pastors and leaders, we see that the Japan Assemblies of God now understand the “whys” and “howtos” of social media ministry. We are hoping to do an in-person training with these leaders in the fall. There are also plans to help consult with them on constructing a media studio similar to the one we were able to build in Myanmar, which was dedicated in 2018. Thank you for your continued partnership with us to see His Message, Multiplied in Japan by training the workers! 2022 Spring Update [9.]

FOCUS ON MYANMAR
We are pleased to announce that because of partners like you, we were able to provide our APMedia team in Myanmar with a much-needed SLR camera so that they can continue producing Messages of Hope for the country in crisis. Believers in the country continue to struggle with the upheaval because it is not as easy to get around. COVID has been very, very bad in the country at different times. Several pastors and church workers have lost their lives to COVID, and until recently, they didn’t have the vaccine. The Church has increased its online presence in the past two and a half months. In that time, their Facebook page has grown 30 percent. The page has nearly 14,000 followers, Our APMedia team member and his family live in a General Council office— a five-story building designed as an office building, not for a family to live in. But because they can’t find a place to live and because finances are so tight, they live in that place with their two children. The Myanmar Media Team continues to regularly produce new content for Media for Hope in the studio. And just recently, they’ve started to go outside the studio and shoot footage on location in safe places around the capital. Would you continue to pray for protection and wisdom for our Myanmar team as they would like to go out and do more onlocation shooting? It’s not always safe to do so, and they’re also limited in their production budget. If you would like to support the media ministry happening in this time of crisis, you may designate your gift online to Myanmar at apmedia.org/give. Thank you for your partnership as we continue to help produce these relevant Messages of Hope during this crisis.
