On July 18, 2013, the newly renovated Schaefer Center for the Performing Arts opened for the first time, thanks to the generosity of patrons Bonnie and Jamie Schaefer. The Schaefer Center is the primary home for events such as the Performing Arts Series, An Appalachian Summer Festival and many campus and community performances. The remodeled venue, formerly known as Farthing Auditorium, has greatly enhanced the performance experience by offering improvements in acoustics, visibility, accessibility and audience comfort. This Grammy Award-winning ensemble has celebrated 40 years of internationally renowned music-making that reinvents the way the world thinks about musical collaboration, education and outreach— all while playing without a conductor!

Grammy Award-winning blues group the Tedeschi Trucks Band has become one of the hottest, most uplifting acts on the road today. Rolling Stone praised their debut album, Revelator, as a 4-star masterpiece. Their second studio album was released in August 2013.

Montana Repertory Theatre: The Miracle Worker April 3, 2014

Few stories are as timeless or reveal the courage and resilience of the human spirit as well as The Miracle Worker. The stirring dramatization of the story of Helen Keller and her tutor Anne Sullivan has been mesmerizing audiences for decades.

Frank Warren: PostSecret October 8, 2013

Founder and creator of the PostSecret Project, Frank Warren discusses how one idea can grow to a collection of over 500,000 highly personal and artfully decorated postcards mailed anonymously from around the world, displaying the soulful secrets we never voice. All events take place at 8pm at the Schaefer Center for the Performing Arts unless otherwise noted.
