Following the success of The Revue & News, the Appens started publishing three more weekly papers, a monthy women’s magazine and a quarterly relocation guide. They even expanded outside of publishing to social media management, design and graphics services, digital newsletter management, website services and most recently podcasting. However, the core business remains community news publishing.

Our PODCASTS Podcasts are the fastest growing platform for entertainment and news consumption in the world. Already, nearly one-fourth of Americans listen to a podcast at least monthly and that number is increasing rapidly. With the podcasting boom, audio has maintained solid footing in the world of content—telling great stories and growing a loyal audience along the way. In the ever-changing world of marketing, it is hard to understand what are the most efficient platforms to spend your advertising dollars. It is even harder to reach and mobilize young people, who are market savvy and wary of traditional advertising. Podcasting is a great way to reach them. Millennials are the largest age group of all podcast listeners at 44 percent.

Who’s Listening? Nearly 1 in 4 Americans, (68 million people), listen to a podcast monthly. A majority of these listeners tend to be well educated, Millennial and male.

Our PODCASTS

Boardroom Budha is a podcast that tells the stories of local entrepreneurs, their businesses, their start-ups, their successes and their failures. It shares the lessons and hard-earned wisdom of the entrepreneurs and answers “how,” “why” and “what were you thinking.”

The Herald Daily Update podcast is Appen Media’s news podcast for all of the latest news and happenings for Alpharetta, Roswell, Johns Creek, Milton, and Fulton and Forsyth counties. Subscribe for daily (Monday-Friday) updates to stay in the know.

Inside the Box focuses on local stories that are often times a microcosm of a larger, sometimes national, conversation. Designed to encourage the listener to consider a new perspective or to think deeper, Inside the Box is a must have podcast for anyone who likes story telling, good journalism, and thoughtful conversations.

Aspiring foodies AJ McNaughton and Kathleen Sturgeon attempt to learn all there is to know about the culinary industry. They are joined weekly by experts in the culinary industry, as well as their friends, to discuss food myths, play games and tell stories from the kitchen.

Made in Alpharetta covers all things that make Alpharetta the best hometown and tourist destination in the southeast. Host Kathleen Sturgeon tells her listeners about the events, restaurants, people and places that make her hometown the jewel of the south.

A comedy podcast about everything myth, or myth adjacent. Co-hosts Julia Grochowski and Lauren Telschow give notso-serious retellings of their favorite myths, because those who don’t know their myths are doomed to repeat them.

Overtime with Joe Parker dives into the arena of high school sports, providing an in-depth look into big games, teams, players and coaches in North Atlanta. Special guests are featured each episode to go beyond the wins and losses and deliver a comprehensive look into their programs.

Pod with the Wind is the show for all things film, television, and the Georgia entertainment industry. From Gone with the Wind to the Avengers, this podcast explores the most iconic films produced in Georgia. Listen as cinephile Carson Cook interviews local filmmakers to understand what it’s like to work in the Hollywood of the South.

Welcome to Real Estate Success, a show about all things real estate. Hosted by local real estate expert, investor, and author, Brian Patton, learn about dealing with and making money off of land, investment property and commercial buildings. Brian delivers the information you need for Real Estate Success.

Welcome to The Ben Burnett Show, a podcast dedicated to the unparalleled thoughts and analysis of a straight shooter leading others to the truth. He’s a great clubhouse guy and if he’s coming for you, you’ll see him from a mile away.
