Budi’s sushi team and founders are incredibly honored to be voted as Best Seafood Restaurant and 1st Runner Up for Best New Business opened in 2021. Looking back to the year of 2020, the pandemic brought extra challenges when we decided to open our second location in Dunwoody. With lockdown and restrictions in public places, if this restaurant was to survive, I had to think out of the box. That brought me the idea to operate this second location differently. As a result, here at Budi’s Sushi Dunwoody we use a “hybrid” concept. We utilize a QR code for customers to view and order our menu, whether they dine-in or place a takeout order. All food is served in eco-friendly containers. In that sense, it is like a self-service. However, customers also get full service when they dine-in. When you come to Budi’s Sushi Dunwoody, you will be greeted by our team, and you’ll be asked if you would like to dine-in or do a takeout. For takeout, our team will direct you to the register to place an order. Next thing is our team will let you know the estimated time of your order. For dine-in, customers can have a seat anywhere they are comfortable. Then, our team will bring you water and utensils while you explore our menu. Once you order via QR Code provided or at the register, our team will bring the food to you, and they will check-in with you just like other full-service casual dining places. A lot of people thought this concept would not work. In contrast, we made it work! I believe anything is possible when you communicate your goal to your team and help each other on how to achieve it. In addition to that, I am blessed to be trusted by Budi’s Sushi founders to run this business into a success.
