Dunwoody festival returns to aid preservation efforts

The Lemonade Days Festival has returned to Dunwoody for the 23rd year, offering food, rides, entertainment and yes, ice cold lemonade to hundreds of participants from across the metro Atlanta area. Hosted by the Dunwoody Preservation Trust, the festival was started in the wake of a tornado that ripped through Dunwoody in 1998. It now funds the work of the Dunwoody Preservation Trust and efforts to preserve local history.

steps April 18 to make that hope a reality, unanimously approving a proposal that could transform the 13-acre North River Shopping Center, into a development with apartments, townhomes, 52,000 square feet of retail space and a trail connection to the Chattahoochee River.

Presented by Sandy Springs Planning and Zoning Manager Michele McIntoshRoss, the development plans were announced as part of a rezoning request for the property made by Atlanta-based real estate firm Stream Reality.
