LUCILE FAYCHO

ACTING CHIEF, DISTRICT INTELLIGENCE DIVISION, QUEZON CITY

POLICE DISTRICT | PHILIPPINE NATIONAL POLICE PHILIPPINES

THE TOP 30

ACTING CHIEF, DISTRICT INTELLIGENCE DIVISION,

CITY POLICE DISTRICT | PHILIPPINE NATIONAL POLICE

PCol Lucile Sumad-en Faycho started her career as a police officer with the Manila Police District in 2002 after graduating from the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA). As a young Lieutenant and armed with only her training from PNPA and guts, she trudged the illustrious grounds of the then Western Police District holding various posts in several Police Stations, from Ermita to Tondo, Binondo, Sta. Ana and Pandacan. Manila was a challenge and at the same time a learning experience from a lass who grew from the quiet and peaceful town of La Trinidad, Benguet.

The most fulfilling post she has handled was as Chief of the Women and Children’s Protection Desk of Manila. Handling this post was an eye-opener because it was where she came in contact with women and children who are victims of abuse. The arrest of culprits and putting them behind bars gave a deeper meaning to the word satisfaction and service. Being able to empower these women to become stronger and better persons after their encounter with abusive partners have become an advocacy since then.

Becoming the Operations Officer of Manila was the most challenging post that PCol Faycho has handled especially in 2015 wherein a number of major events were conducted in the country particularly in Manila. Some of these were the APEC meetings and the visit of His Holiness Pope Francis to Manila including the state visit of US President Barack Obama. The preparations for the security for these VVIPs to ensure that all their events in Manila is incident free and secure were a challenge. Planning and implementing the security plans to these events including hundred others that were managed in Manila for two years and 9 months were part of the learning process that she has undergone in becoming an operations officer.

SENIOR CLOUD SECURITY

Accenture

In February 2020, PCol Faycho was again transferred to Quezon City Police District where she held the post Chief of the District Operations Division. Although holding the same post in Manila, QCPD is still another learning experience. One of the major recurring events in Quezon City is the State of the Nation Address of the President. In 2022 and 2023, as the Operations Officer, her Office is tasked to plan and manage the security preparations for the event together with other government agencies. Planning includes the coordination and dialogue with all stakeholders including the organizers of sectoral groups who conducts mass protests during the SONA. Diligently performing all of these aside from performing her administrative duties in managing her office and staff has allowed PCol Faycho to even experience new knowledge in making her a better public servant. Holding the post as the Intelligence Officer of QCPD is also a challenge as this is an unfamiliar territory but she is willing to take on the challenge.
