Every september, Aquabocci goes to Kensington Olympia in London to showcase our latest drainage products to the design community. This year we built 3 tables which all had a theme to match the Aquabocci products.
The Black table showcased our Yellow Aquabocci R-47 Threshold Drain display and included full lengths of our standard colour range of GT Silver, black, titanium, champagne.
The Central table had a Bondi Beach theme with aerial beach images and REAL beach sand to demonstrate that our products are corrosion resistant and are guaranteed not to rust or corrode in chlorine and saltwater applications. The Grey table was the official UK release of Aquabocci WunderGrip Non-Slip drains and Aquabocci Bling (see below for full details).
Visitors also picked up a hard copy of our brand new 65 page catalogue with handle.

A30 NON-SLIP Aquabocci WunderGrip is a non slip finish available with all Aquabocci custom colours. The process involves treating the surface of the grate to create a textured finish with a CSIRO R-13 Slip rating. Once this process is complete the grates are anodized to 25 micron, to ensure that they are corrosion resistant.

THE EVOLUTION OF THE AQUABOCCI R-47 THRESHOLD DRAIN It was during a chance meeting in Kensington London, that the spark was first ignited to create the R-47 Threshold drain. The project architect had designed stone slabs to flow from interior to exterior with the door track recessed into the stone slabs, however the project contractor believed that the water from the door track weep holes would finish up inside the house causing the timber floorboards to lift. He had seen it happen before. What’s more, local regulation required that all flush finish door tracks need a drainage point that carries away water from the door track into ‘an actual drain’ and not just ‘somewhere down below’. For the next 10 months our team set out to develop an off the shelf product, that would appeal to our growing audience within the design community. The challenge was to catch water from the weep holes in the bottom of the door track, which can be anywhere between 40mm/1.58” and 70mm/2.76” below finished floor level.

The solution was to create a product with a double entry drainage point that would drain water from finished floor level as well as the water flowing out through the weep holes in the door track. Based on our existing lineal design and playful component system, we have developed a fully integrable product complete with both internal and external corner pieces.

R-47 THRESHOLD DRAIN THE ONLY DRAIN THAT INTERACTS WITH THE DOOR TRACK. The idea of a flush finish from your living area to your balcony is now a reality with the R-47 Threshold Drain, and what makes it even better is a choice of 4 anodised colour grates to match your door frames.. The R-47 Threshold Drain has an open side entry point that allows the water to be carried from the door track into the drainage channel, whilst also draining water from the surrounding surface areas through the top entry point. The double entry point has been meticulously created with precision and function in mind to allow for a flush finish to flow from the interior to the exterior.
A unique feature of the R-47 is an EPDM silicon sleeve that is connected to the side entry point of the channel as well as sitting below the door track extrusion. The EPDM silicon sleeve acts as an extra water barrier and allows the system to fit any threshold thickness, whilst maintaining a flush surface at finished floor level. Corner pieces, end caps and connectors also have EPDM rubber seals which are screwed into place for fast and easy installation.

It’s one thing to make a product thinner, it’s something else simultaneously increase the flow rate, giving A30 the highest flow rate in the Aquabocci range.

A WALK IN WET ROOM WITHOUT A SHOWER SCREEN The Double Blade Drainage solution was fist suggested to us by a Miami architect who was looking to develop completely open plan wet rooms for a high rise development on Miami Beach USA. The client loved the minimal look of our Blade Drain so together we have developed a double drainage solution with a flow rate of 50 litres per minute.. This innovative technique allows for the use of power showers and removes the need for an obtrusive shower screen.
If you would like to achieve this look and function then you will need to install the first blade drain across the shower threshold which acts as a water barrier, the floor finish is then sloped towards a second blade drain along the back wall which operates as the main drainage unit.

The versatility of the S66 is limitless, there isn’t an application it can not fit into. The Aquabocci spigot can be located anywhere along the channel, making it the most versatile drainage system on the market.
Aquabocci accessories are as durable as our drainage systems themselves. Corner pieces, end caps and connectors have EPDM rubber seals which screw into place for fast and easy installation.

The Blade-T drain was one of our most testing projects to date. The challenge was to develop an external slot drain with these 4 very important features: a minimal slot, a low profile, a big flow rate and the ability to adjust to any tile or stone thickness. Firstly we built a 124mm x 32mm chamber capable of draining 90 litres of water. Secondly we built a cradle in the top of the chamber to hold the Blade drain. Finally we designed the aquabocci spacer system making the Blade grate height adjustable. The final result is the only low profile slot drain on the market capable of functioning like a traditional channel drain, whilst maintaining a discreet minimal design. Profile
