SURGETRAB (PIPETRAB) Field Mounted Transmitter/Signal Protection Instructions 1669A
November 2002
Features
Description
• Field mounted design - Surge protection device is encapsulated in stainless steel pipe nipple for fast and easy installation at two wire field mounted device.
The PIPETRAB S-PT1-2PE-24DC field mounted surge suppressors are specially designed for protection of field mounted control devices. The PIPETRAB is packaged in a 3/4" 304 stainless steel pipe nipple to provide environmental protection of the suppression electronics.
• Easy wiring - Screw clamp connectors allow easy in and out wiring.
The suppression circuit is a multistage hybrid utilizing fast response surge arresting diodes combined with high energy handling gas discharge tubes.
• 10 kA 8 x 20 µs surge suppression current: normal mode and common mode. Protection from electrical transients induced by lightning, load switching and other common industrial noise sources.
The suppression electronics are removable and feature screw clamp connections. Allowing the user an easy installation. No wire nuts or additional crimp connectors are required.
• Easy earth ground connection. "Grounding
disk" uses conduit as surge path to ground. (Conduit must be grounded for reliable operation.)
Used with the Phoenix Contact DIN-rail mount SURGETRAB UBK-2PE-24HB provides total protection of sensitive control signal circuits.
• Replaceable protection electronics. In case of failure the user can easily replace the surge protection device.
