“ First life, then spaces, then buildings - the other way around never works” - Jan Gehl
Hello! I am a 4th year architecture student on a never ending quest to create a relationship between human emotions and built forms. Minimalism and sustainability are concepts that have greatly impacted my design choices. The boundless nature of design and the possibility of it becoming reality has always kept me on the clock.

01 THE SERENE RESIDENCE DESIGN
Brief To design a private residence for a family of four which represents their interests and brings in traditional characteristics of the context.
Intent Having spent most of their time in the dry regions of Middle East, the family wanted a design that invite the nature into their home and live among them. The final design was developed in a way to satisfy the client requirements, look into micro-climatic factors and achieving peace and comfort within the abode.
6
Site The site is located in the outskirts of Coimbatore city. It is surrounded by private residences and low rise apartments. The pleasant climate of Coimbatore and tranquility of the neighborhood is an added advantage for solving the climate responsive challenges of the design.

8
The form took in the essence of the almost symmetrical site and rises to a G+1 structure
The mass is divided into a grid and placement of three courts based on sun path.
Staggering of blocks to create a playful form and capture beautiful vistas of the surrounding
Creating voids to welcome natural elements within the house and create coexistance of man and nature

LIGHT COURT
Earth is the only element directly connected to our five senses. By installing the staircase region with lush green flora and topped with vine wrapped trellis, bring the residents closer to this element. Being placed towards the southern side, the greens absorb the heat and reduce the inner temperature hence increasing the comfort
Water has always been seen as an icon of purity and peace. By placing it at the heart of the house, it acts as a pause point before one ventures into other spaces. The water body acts as a central focal point of the house. The way light spakles over the ripples and the rythamic sound of water during windflow sets magical outdoor settings within the abode.
North Eastern lighting is the best to be captured. Giving a double height living room with skylights in the dining room lights up the areas and improves the ambience of the space. These spaces undergo a dramatic play of light as there is a constant change in lighting throughout the day and provide a more lively experience.

02 VRIKSHAM SCHOOL DESIGN
Brief To design an elementary school of about 150 students between the ages 3 to 9. The design must try to achieve gurukul learning system i.e. learning with both interior and exterior spaces.
Intent A school is also known as second home. Hence the intent is to eliminate the bustling surroundings and create an enviroment that lets the children to play, explore and learn. Mild lighting and adequate ventilation is ensured to provide a comfortable learnscape.
12
Site The site is located in the heart of educational zone in Chennai with busy Gandhimandapam road abutting the site there by increasing the scope. The linearity of the site in the N-S axis poses great challenges in terms of planning and climate responsiveness.

03 SKY GARDENS HOUSING DESIGN
Brief To design mid-rise apartments for people belonging to different socio-cultural and economic groups and providing them with a peaceful enviroment to improve liveability amidst the busy urban context.
Intent Taking nature along with soaring floors was the main intent of this project. Keeping the enhancement of microclimate in mind, the vertical settlement is designed to accomodate various groups of people to live as a single community without compromising on their privacy.
18
Site The site abuts the GST road in Vandalur sandwiched between the concrete towards West - South and greens towards North - East. To achieve thermal comfort within the living space and create well shaded open spaces around the site is top priority
19
Vehicular access on periphery. Pedestrian friendly homescape
Cental void created to engage residents with outdoors
Extruding building block based on MIG and HIG living
Raising block on stilt to give open ground floor for better wind flow. Division of blocks to reduce the building mass visually
Altering the height of the blocks to allow sunlight access to the ground. Enabling forest views for all blocks
Creating voids to take nature to multiple levels
Placed services and amenities as per usage & accessibility
Sustainable utilities and options introduced

ambition
On the path to an enthralling and allusive design, the next objective was to symbolize and envision an ever-growing India. Curviness creates smooth flow and gradual development
