Mr. Youssef Dorkhom, the newly designated Chargé d’Affaires at the Embassy of the State of Palestine in Athens paid a courtesy visit to our Chamber, where he met the Secretary General, Rashad Mabger. The two sides discussed a variety of issues with a focus on ways and means to increase communication between Palestinian businessmen with their Greek counterparts in order to explore the potential of increasing the trade balance and mutual investment flow between the two sides. The discussion included the preparations for the upcoming Business Gathering “Greece & 5 Mashriq Countries (Iraq – Jordan – Lebanon – Palestine – Syria)”, scheduled to be convened at the Divani Caravel Hotel on 23 & 24 March. Mr. Dorkhom has a long-standing career at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Palestine. He has served his country as First Secretary in South Africa, then moved to Holland in the same position, and to Ireland on the same capacity and then Counsellor from 2002 to 2014. Mr. Dorkhom’s last assignment was as First Counsellor in the Palestinian Embassy in Greece and, as of January 2022, he has been assigned as Chargé d’Affaires. He holds an MBA from the Maastricht School, Holland (1990) and a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from Budapest University (1994).
