His visa to New York was rejected but that didn’t stop Ali Al Shehabi’s work from finding a spot in one of New York’s subways. Along with Al Shehabi, Bahrain-based photographers, Ishaq Madan, Enas Sistani, Mustafa AbdulHadi, and Rasha Yousif have made it to the Museum of Modern Art’s Photo Club, a Webby Award-winning participatory social media initiative launched in May 2021.
