Icarus
BRIEF Design a lamp that incorporates two materials (wood, cardboard, paper, or fabric) while experimenting with the value created by light.
CONCEPT To represent the story of Icarus, utilize shapes that represent aggressiveness and fragility.

HABITREE
BRIEF Create an interactive space for children in primary school levels. Must occupy at most a space of 2m x 2m x 2m, and be inspired by a pre-selected architect.
CONCEPT Based on interaction with nature. Meant for use in school shared spaces, the design invites children to form teams dedicated to taking care of plants and vegetables. The windows then and integrated benches then allow the kids to immerse themselves into the nature they are taking care of.

HooT!
BRIEF The Design must be Accessible, Adaptable, Modular, Expressive, and Portable. It must connect to the client’s personality and habits.
NECESSITY The product is meant to organize Chartpak markers in a way that allows for efďŹ cient use and visualization of each color.

HooT!
Material It must be made through 3D printing, which guides the volume and properties of the design.
Use The product can be used for carrying Chartpak markers, as well as organizing them when in use.
Shape It incorporates the shape of the markers and more geometric aspects. Additionally it is reminiscent of an owl, to connect with the clients love of reading.
Connectivity The triangular element has small projections that allow modules to fit together. https://issuu.com/arangeles/docs/hoot_-pr ocessbook
SEPANTIN

Material
Shape
Bamboo is natural and sustainable, while maintaining stability and strength.
The design mixes organic and geometric shapes to express the duality of the concept.
Use
Connectivity
The product can be bought individually or in a set, more can be bought to expand capacity.
The modules work as puzzle pieces and can be attached at the front or at the sides.
RĂ–AR
BRIEF The product must be a ceramic entry tray for a ďŹ ctional character. For this design Mike and Sulley from Monsters Inc. were chosen because of their joy and energy.

Material
Shape
Air drying clay is versatile and solid. However, it needs careful processes to obtain more geometric shapes.
It combines functionality, for containing ties and keys, with shapes that connect with the characters and their dynamic.
Use The product can be placed at the edge of the entry table, so that ties hang hand from its rectangular elements. https://youtu.be/pL_zMYb1OFU
ÄKUI
BRIEF The product must be a set of containers of either light, water or vegetation. They must be made of wood and ceramics, as well as be adaptable to be made by a local crafstman. This was a team project.
NECESSITY This project was a partnership with the traditional craftsmanship house in Querétaro (La Casa Queretana de Artesanías). Because of this, we identified the necessity to attract buyers’ attention to handmade souvenirs instead of manufactured ones.
PROCESS Concept: Protect to Transcend. Inspiration: The Armadillo
INSPIRATION
PROCESS Designing in a team was a new experience. However, bouncing ideas with someone else was very enriching for the design and for my growth as a designer.
Ă„KUI
Material
Shape
Each design must be made on an axis. They compliment each other as one is mostly wood and the other is mostly ceramics.
The round soft shapes connect with the concept of protection, while the diagonal cuts represent transcendence. Additionally, the reliefs mimic the armadillo’s shell.
Use Both products are meant to protect and contain. One is a pot with filtration to protect the wood, while the other works as a candle cover that protects the flame and redirects its light.

TAIYARI SERI
“Our shining heart” in the indigenous language of my region.
BRIEF As part of the annual International Solidarity Forum at the World Youth Association, art pieces were commissioned to represent the theme of Human Dignity.
CONCEPT The piece illustrates an individual who encompasses most of the prejudices that people use to discredit an individual’s Human Dignity. She is an old, poor, indigenous woman (a figure who is regularly seen in the streets of my hometown). Her embroidered blankets are each traditional of a different region of Mexico. Her divine pose and hidden treasure represent the value within each person.

FORGE BRIEF Create a three-dimensional piece that explores on the concept of “forge”.
CONCEPT It is based on the idea that something broken can make something beautiful. While the hands are scuffed and unfinished, the rose is polished and beautiful.

NJUU “Sister in the indigenous language of my region.
DESCRIPTION This is a very personal piece. It is a portrait of my sister, and it is meant to represent our connection and the love I have for her. It expresses her joy and freespirit, but also expresses the sense of protectiveness and duty to preserve that I feel as her older sister. Additionally, it was selected for a regional art showcase coordinated by the state government.
