Welcome

1. About ARC Amphibian and Reptile Conservation’s vision is to see amphibians and reptiles thriving in their natural habitats, and a society committed to their conservation. We are involved in national and international projects, through links with the overseas territories. With over 25 years of experience in the wildlife sector we are committed to the conservation of frogs, toads, newts, snakes and lizards and the habitats on which they depend.

Businesses are increasingly understanding the business case for forming partnerships with ARC. This booklet gives an overview of potential benefits to your company for each of the different options for partnership. We invite you to meet with us in order to tailor a partnership and ensure your objectives are reached.”

Each year we involve volunteers in improving the conditions for amphibians and reptiles in our 80 nature reserves across the UK.

2. Meeting your objectives

3. Overview of options

A partnership with ARC will enhance and demonstrate your commitment to your Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability objectives.

ARC offers a range of options for partnerships with the private sector, whether large global organisations or smaller local businesses. The list below is by no means exhaustive. Some of the main opportunities we recommend you focus on for maximum impact include:

ARC’s national and international reach provides opportunities to meet local engagement objectives in your geographical areas of operation. Our practical approach to conservation provides outdoor opportunities to increase employee motivation and retention, and to meet company targets for employee volunteering.

• Employee Action Days

Your brand awareness and reputation will be enhanced through a partnership with ARC. We will ensure your company name and logo feature on the communication channels relevant to the type of partnership we form together.

• donations

We invite you to meet with us so that we can better understand your objectives and how we can help you to meet them. For example:

• consultancy

• cause related marketing • sponsorship • corporate supporters

• promote your business • meet your CSR policy • position your organisation as a leader with expertise in ecology • positively associate your organisation with other leaders in ecology

4. Employee Action Days

5. Cause related marketing

Employee Action Days (EADs) are a great way to start a mutually beneficial partnership with ARC, and help to fulfil specific CSR or personal objectives for your staff.

A cause related marketing strategy makes a direct link for your potential new customers between sales of your products or services and support for amphibians and reptiles via donation to ARC.

For example, your staff may have written requirements in their annual objectives, such as to participate in two volunteering days per year for charity.

This will differentiate your brand and products from those of your competitors. It is a mutually beneficial system that increases income for both partners.

Teams of employees are welcome to join us for a day to complete tasks that they can feel proud of for a lifetime, delivering tangible benefits for amphibians and reptiles across the UK. We own or manage 80 nature reserves across the UK.

The return on investment is measurable. It helps you to increase sales and strengthens your position as an ecologically responsible organisation.

Employees often enjoy practical habitat management work such as creating nature areas, digging ponds and planting trees. They enjoy an active, outdoor team bonding experience, whilst learning more about amphibians and reptiles in the UK, and improving links with the local community.

6. Donations

7. Sponsorship

As a registered charity the most efficient form of financial support is a donation towards our work on an unrestricted basis. This enables us to continue as an organisation without needing to deliver significant additional activity, staff time and resources to service the partnership itself.

You can make an impact in the geographical area of your office or areas of activity by sponsoring one of our local projects.

We will be delighted to acknowledge donations using our various communication channels.

Alternatively you may wish to sponsor a particular work programme, project, event or publication where we have a thematic match with your work. Sponsorship of the following broad themes can help to secure your brand positioning and ecological credibility: • practical conservation action

We welcome match funding pledges and agreements with other businesses, for example by doubling the value of your donation if another business agrees to donate at the same level.

• species monitoring and data collection • managing 80 reserves • training for land managers • policy advocacy • partnership projects • annual conference
