The challenges and solutions proposed are organized around core elements of place-based regeneration: • Geography and Demography – the distribution and extent of the physical and human characteristics of Ryde. • Foundation Capital – the quantity, quality and ‘health’ of the natural, cultural and social components of Ryde. • Land Use Policy – the framework of international, national and local decision-making with regard to development and infrastructure. • Governance – the role of local authorities at county and parish level and the network of organizations and institutions involved in the provision of public services and amenities. 7
