We were asked to design a guest house for a visiting scholar (or researcher, academician, writer, artist) in residence who conducts studies in subjects related to Turkey in all fields of humanities and social sciences. The purpose of the guesthouse is to host prestigious grant program recipients in order to provide opportunities to study in Turkey. This is a temporary residence for such a visitor to have a comfortable stay for a limited period of time. AXONOMETRIC DRAWING

In the beginning of the project I first come up with the dynamism idea which may be able to make my house more attractive and alive. Even though I find out an idea of interlocked masses at first , I perceived that also exploding the masses can also create dynamism. So I start to create my house by separating all the areas from each other. I start this work by organizing the separation between public and private spaces; so I create my living area, dining area and kitchen on one side and personal rooms, toilets and study-library room on the other side. To provide the connection between spaces, I found an idea of transparent transition spaces which are all made of glass; it is another quality to make my dynamism idea more influential. It gives the main characteristics to my house which absolutely transforms it into an indoor-outdoor house. By these transparent transition spaces I give the opportunity to feel the outside nature to the people who walk inside the house. People may witness the weather outside; feel the life of green from flowers and trees which surrounds someone from every side. Also this whole way long glass transition spaces are the good sources of natural light which lightens, brightens and refreshes the house.

Additionally, even there was no level difference on my site, I preferred to create my own level differences in my house by using different thicknesses of slab on the ground. In that way people may not only work through the corridors, they will be able to go up and down a little to reach different areas of the house, which may become an opportunity to have different space experiences. There are also outdoor areas in my house; one is a wooden floored public courtyard which can be accessed from the rooms around it, second one is a private terrace provided using the master bedroom’s roof which can be accessed directly from study area. Ankara - Iskitler Expo Centre XXI FOCUS OF URBAN RENEWAL PROJECT Iskitler, Ankara, Turkey
LONGITUDINAL SITE SECTION
TRANSVERSAL SITE SECTION
10
Our project territory is in the scope of central business district; Iskitler. Since Iskitler as an industrial zone, had a large extent loss of its economic productivity, it is aimed to transform this zone into a contemporary city center with the urban renewal project. Compared with many developed regions of Ankara, Iskitler still stands as a central zone which makes it valuable to reconstruct and change it into a modern business district.

Urban Agricultural Research Centre BRING NEW ENVIRONMENT TO THE OLD CITY Bubny, Prague, Czech Republic
These landscapes can count as assets ,especially historic part enhance the creative practice in terms of preservation, design and planning. Maximizing and reusing the areas through integration of multifunctional spaces with agriculture makes the site environmentally, economically and socially developed in a long term. In order to restore the old building, two other main structures with different functions are attached in and above the old building. So that with new functions, the site is integrated with the old city Prague rather than left abandoned.

In order to sustain the old effect of the building, the structure is protected and enriched with alternative structural systems. The combination of both modern (steel, glass) and traditional materials (concrete, brick, wood) are used to fulfill the meaning of the renovation.

To bring a new environment to the old city and to serve both workers and neighbours, new open livıing environments with the agricultural functions are designed. New shopping areas, hobby gardens, cafes are constructed as a common space wıthin a nature. To enrich the overall nature of the site, the surface area of the site are devided into parts with thin strips. In each strip, different type of vegetation is grown. So this becomes the main idea of the project to allow people in between the nature and the vegetation that they can also are alloved to grow. Since the whole building is covered with the glass curtain wall, the design of shading sysyem is needed for preventing the excessive heat gain. Using reflected surfaced shading devices, the required amount of energy is reduced for heating and cooling. In order to increase the efficiency of the system, ivys are located in between the building facade and attached solar skin as a bufferzone .

The Space, Science and Technology Centre TECHNOLOGY AND INTEGRATED PROCESS DESIGN Bilkent, Ankara, Turkey
The design process is in some ways depart from traditional methods to take design decisions into consideration which are usually made later in the traditional approach, such as the early selection of building systems and technology. It is striving to engage new technology both in the digital modelling of the architectural design and building technology. Building forms and their function are the derivatives of the building program, but also they are derived from the type of building systems chosen with strong inclination towards sustainability, efficiency and overall building quality. Quality design therefore includes an early process of selection and decision making along with the methodology of the design schema. The building design reflects an integrated design process making use of building technology and building sustainability. DETAIL DRAWING
