I am an architect always thirsty for knowledge, and I am not afraid to partake in challenges. With international experience, I am passionate about leading teams into the agile practices of BIM. My leadership style takes the project and teams needs into account to tailor solutions that follow the best practices. One of my strong suits is taking difficult concepts and atomizing them to then articulate them in a clear manner.

PROJECT MANAGER
As a Project Manager, I developed both architectural and software projects that are key to the business model. I also managed the development of a BIM tool that allows to add construction information to modeling elements in Autodesk Revit, to be later gathered and exported to the flagship software of the business. This process complies with international classification systems.
10
PROGRAMMING & TEACHING This project was the pilot to integrate BIM with the flagship software of the business. I managed the team that created a brigde between Autodesk Revit and DataLaing MaPreX, helping the flow from 3D to 5D in a seamless and easy way. A key factor for this tool was that it should be able to hold the System Classification used in Venezuela and the one used internally by the software, to ensure a correct export to MaPreX. Later, in a series of workshops, seminars and congresses to explain the BIM methodology, which was in very early stages in Venezuela. The workshops sparked the interest of various sectors and helped start the discussion in boards and universities.

BIM SPECIALIST In this corporation I collaborated in the implementation of the BIM or Building Information Modeling methodology in the Nuclear Services department by creating new BIM deliverables, while coordinating with teams from other departments in projects abroad. This implied designing from scratch and teaching an in-house course about Autodesk Revit MEP, Collaboration and Best Practices in BIM. This alliance was also potientiated by creating videos and media from BIM models for international tenders.

BIM SPECIALIST
Took part in the development BIM team for prefabricated modular houses in Ireland, in a project to satisfy the housing shortage in the Dublin region.
14
As Ireland’s population grows, the demand for dwellings also increases. For this reason, we have developed a housing project intended to cover these needs, in compliance with NIBUG’s vision regarding construction. This house is elevated from the soil to keep humidity away from it. Being south oriented, it will get the most sunlight and heat througout the day, while being covered in the back to protect itself from the weather. Its materials were carefully chosen to ensure an efficient offsite construction.

BIM C O N S U LTA N T
I have consulted DataLaing in its efforts to implement the BIM Methodology in Venezuela. I joined a commission to develop standards that will influence BIM Projects in the country and the LATAM region. In this commission, I co-authored the BIM Dictionary, the first book that compiles terms in the methodology in Spanish, which has been presented in the National Congress of Advanced Architecture in Madrid, Spain. I also coordinated the development of the BIM Execution Plan proposal for projects and tenders in Venezuela, which is based on international standards such as the ISO-19650 norm. This document has been favored in several congresses and will be presented on the next BIM Summit 2021 in Barcelona.

During my time here, I led several projects of different scales at the same time, ranging from residences to Airport People Movers, and even Campuses with over 2.5 million square feet in constructed space. I was also deeply involved with the implementation of global standards and adapting these same standards to US guidelines.
August 2021 - June 2022
I revitalized the global agenda with initiatives that align all BIM Managers across Grimshaw’s studios and was part of the training strategy that has the objective of creating a literacy baseline in Autodesk products, such as Revit. As a BIM Manager, I monitored and taken charge of sharing our work in BIM360, while complying with strict client requirements. I held coordination meetings between stakeholders of different disciplines and delivered this information to the design team.
BIM MANAGER
As part of my workflow, I implemented an adaptable ad-hoc training sessions in Revit and The Autodesk Construction Cloud, bespoke to the level the architect has, being able to potentiate their skill set as an Autodesk user. For this, I created videos and tutorials to make the teaching more efficient and friendly making use of Project Management tools and web-based hubs that host that information.

01 THESIS
BOX
The Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya needs to expand its building, so they acquired the block in front of the building. The project responds to the functional program including 17.000 m2 of commercial space, office space, new headquarters for the university and parking space. This project had to be documented from its early stages according to standards and best practices of the BIM methodology.
24
CONCEPT BOX’s concept revolved around the idea of delivering not just a building, but a product that had value in every stage. From the Schematic Design, to the Operating and Maintenance we wanted to deliver an efficient approach that benefits the user but allows the Facility Manager to manage the building through its lifecycle. The building was designed around a patio in 3 concentric rings, that went from the public to the more private sectors, always keeping in mind that the program and the density of the building might change. They also behaved like three different builings, that were according to the EIRs.
25
The great pivot for organization and coordination was the use of the System Classification used mainly in Catalunya. It permeated in organizing every file through our own Nomenclature for files and folders. For the Facility Manager, the value was increased in the creation of parameters that helped the hierarchy of accesses in the building.
SYSTEM CLASSIFICATION 26
Another objective that was very clear was that every core had to be independent from the others, since every use of the building might be held during different times of the day, week and year. Because of that each core was designed to have its own shaft, keeping in mind the requirements of the Facility Manager.
MEP (MECH-ELEC-PLUM) 27
Coordination and team building were big parts of the success of the project. Using the SCRUM framework, we organized one week sprints in which documentation on the Common Data Environment were vital for Model production. Starting each week, Revisions were made for Clash detection and file testing.
COORDINATION
28
VICO Office was the software used for planning and costs management. The System Classification enforced to used was the standard in Catalunya, named GuBIMClass, and it was the common framework to relate other software used for costs in Spain. Tests were made to recreate the construction process that was devised with Gantt Charts and Line Diagrams.
