Marwan Hamed Architecture Student
i always find an elevated level of tranquility that completely scrapes away life distractions leaving you exposing to the materials of earth, it takes you back to your roots as a human being but it also leaves huge room for thought and innovation due to the lack of man made elements in this setting.
first things first, i want to start with some background about myself that would enable you to see how some aspects in the design are shaped by personal characteristics and to hear about the reason behind my eagerness to learn in this course. a side of me that helped in defining allot of the decisions took this semester was my will to provide a solution to introduce the desert landscape to high tech architecture which i think still has so much potential. i guess from the photo on the right it is visible how exploration and safari is a large part of me.
Another dimensions that has driven me throughout this course is my passion for digital fabrication. a semester ago i started developing products in the automotive industry as a hobby. Right now i am developing my products and striving to launch a brand selling 3d printed accessories. This hobby made ready with all the info i need on 3d printing. However i was lacking in the digital modeling skills which was an extreme motivator throughout semester. Lastly,i want to thank our Dr. Sherrif mouran and Dr. Passant Massoud and our helpful team of Teaching assistant which were responsive to our interest.

A TRAVELLING CHANNEL
bediouns
Storybook
Sand represented by desert has always been considered a movement and traveling medium forcing its inhabitants to be on the move. .
conceptually they embody the purpose of a movable home having the sense of belonging towards the desert while not settling in one place solving a major problem of home movability.
FLOWING EARTH
Although a very earthy material sand is so light that it responds in a free-flowing manner dancing in harmony with sound, wind and water.
MOBILE LIFESTYLE
Bedouins, as desert dwellers are a perfect inspiration and consumer of a movable home, since it is part of their logistics and they already use fabric tents.

21 plan options
Hospitality The plans highlight the hospitality of the public seating area and how inviting it is which is an important function required by Bedouins preserving Bedouin culture and values Chameleon Shelter the sand filled wall provides superb mobility while ensuring shelter characteristics of safety, stability and climatic security. Function appropriate circulation the design oers to levels of circulation, the first through the main entrance the progresses from public seating with friends to an outdoor private seating with family onto the private room The second circulation level allows access to and from the bedrooms without intersecting the public spaces allowing for Plan options The adjust-ability of the design allows for an addition of a bedroom or swapping it for a bigger outdoor area
