A Biblical Injustice
How Evangelicals For Biden attempts to redeem the soul of our country at the expense of the unborn.
On election day, millions of selfproclaimed “Evangelicals for Biden” cast their vote for the “nice-guy” candidate in an effort to bring back “normalcy” and “decency.” These Evangelicals appear to have overlooked undoing the progress the pro-life community has made during President Trump’s administration. Indeed, these voters have elected a candidate who, despite claiming to practice Catholicism, has clearly stated his support for stripping the unborn of their right to life, a right so clearly defined throughout the Bible. One conservative pro-life Evangelical voter stated her reasoning behind voting for Biden was that this election was decided for her on the country’s deteriorating race relations and the vast social injustice facing our nation. She offers Christians advice, to “go to the most marginalized people you know, ask them how you should vote, then serve them.” This is not possible for those never born, as Roe v. Wade has silenced and oppressed the voice of millions. The policy positions of the Democratic tickets will continue to contribute to this great social injustice.

To illustrate, Evangelicals for Biden voted for a candidate whose running mate supports post-birth abortion and the murder of botched abortion survivors. As California’s Attorney General, Harris also advocated for the Reproductive FACT Act which required pro-life pregnacy centers to advertise for free abortions before the Act was deemed unconstitutional. She voted against the Born-Alive Again Survivors Protection Act, which sought to protect children by requiring health professionals to provide

Additionally, their elected candidates have expressed an interest in overturning the Hyde Amendment, which has saved an estimated 2 million lives by not allowing abortions to be funded by taxpayer dollars. Furthermore, voters decided to look the other way at the fact that over 80% of all Planned Parenthood facilities are located in minority communities. They also decided to ignore the racist history behind Planned Parenthood and its founder Margaret Sanger. Sanger encouraged the murder of African-American children in order to achieve “the gradual suppression, elimination and eventual extinction, of defective stocks — those human weeds which threaten the blooming of the finest flowers of American civilization.” While AfricanAmerican women make up 13% of our population, they have the highest rates of abortion seen every year. A study in 2015 found in Georgia alone, black women obtained 59.4% of abortions, the most of any other demographic. Evangelicals for Biden have elected to continue marginalizing the lives of unborn AfricanAmerican children through Biden and Harris, who will utilize these facilities to continue ending the lives of children. One cannot claim to be pro-life, claim to pursue justice in the name of racial justice, while simultaneously neglecting those murdered before taking their first breath.
Samuel Sey, writing for his blog Slow To Write, makes a strong argument against the Evangelicals for Biden group. “The government cannot help poor and vulnerable people better than the Church— especially when politicians like Joe Biden are more committed to killing vulnerable children than helping them. Politicians who kill children shouldn’t be trusted to help children.” Christians are called to help the poor and weak, not pass off that responsibility to government establishments that have proven time and again of their numerous shortcomings. With the Church, evangelicals are called to extend a helping hand to those who are in need and share the good news of the Gospel to all people. That is what the Gospel calls Christians to do.
The Bible explicitly introduces God’s stance on life and where life begins. We are made in the image of God (Genesis 1:27) and God knew us before He formed us in the womb (Psalm 139:13). The Lord calls children an offspring a blessing and reward from Him. The Bible clearly lists, in Proverbs 6:16-19, the six things the Lord hates, one of which being hands that shed innocent blood. How foolish Christians are to offer the lives and blood of the unborn in exchange for a President who has supported the murder of the innocents while promising to bring back “decency” to America.
I have many friends who are Christians and voted for Biden. I do not doubt their salvation by any means, but I question their judgement. A majority of them could never give me a reason on why they supported Biden other than that they did not like Trump’s personality. It should be stated, I am also not arguing Evangelicals had to vote for President Trump, he too has his many faults. Nevertheless, I have tried over the course of this election to step into their shoes and imagine claiming to be pro-life and voting for Joe Biden. But I could not. I hope by next election cycle Evangelicals for Biden will see that abortion is the greatest social injustice on this earth. It has claimed the lives of children who will never take their first breath or their first steps so long as we continue to support and elect politicians with radical policies. B
