AnticipatedvocaloppositiontohisstandandopinionswasexperiencedbyBishopLamont,ofUmtali,Rhodesia,whenheoddresseda publicgatheringinTrinityCollege,onTuesdaynight.

Apersistentinterjector hadtobeaskedtobesilent andabarrageofquestions andstatementscamefroma numberofformerRhodesianpeopleintheaudience.

However,the66-year-old bishop,afteranon-stop two-monthtourofAustralia andNewZealandthathas involvednofewerthan60 publicspeakingengagementsandtelevisioninterviews,tosaynothingofprivateconversations,heldfirmlytohisclearlystatedoppositiontothepresentregimeinRhodesia.
