Besidesdeterminingtheprioritiesofourown ministryandthatofourpriests,theteachingofthe SecondVaticanCouncilgivesimmensejoytothe Catholicpeople,remindingWeethatbecausethe EucharistcontainsChristbasalitthereforecontains "thechurch'sentirespiritualwealth."

Afewmonthsbeforethepromulgationofthe council'sdecreeonthepriestlyministryandlife, myselfreiteratedthechurch'sdoctrineonthereal presenceofChristintheEucharist,statingthat"it presenceinthefullestsense:becauseitisasubstantial presencebywhichthewholeandcompleteChrist, Godandman,ispresent"(MysteriumFidel,39). wentontostatethattheCatholicChurch"has atalltimesgiventothisgreatsacramenttheworship whichknownas'aria'andwhichmaybegiven toGodalone."

TheEucharist,intheMassandoutsideofthe Alms,rentuinsthebodyandbloodofJesusChrist andisthereforedesertingoftheworshipthatisgiven tothelivingGod,andtohimalont.

ItistherommitoftheirChristianlives,notin thesensethattheirotheractivitiesarenotimportant; activitiesmastbeunitedwithChrist'ssairificaction andhewaistedwithhisredemptivesacrifice.

TheVaticanCouncilassuresasthattheEucharist islikewise"thesourceandsummitofallevangeliza- tion"(PresbyterorumOrdinis,5).

Theveryidentityofthechurch,inherevangelising mission,iseffectedbytheEucharist,whichbecomes thegoalofallouractivities.

Afterall,thereisstillthe OlympicGamesaxiomthat theprimaryobjectiveisnot somuchtowinastocompete. Althoughitmaynotaltogetherpleasetheadministrators,coachesandeven somecompetitors,ithasto berealisedthatthemoney thegovernment-anygovernment-devotestosport hastobegrantedinan overallconceptandnotbe usedsolelyinthepursuit ofGamesmedals.

ThereareamateursportingactivitiesinAustralia whichhavenopotential whatever forwinning Gamesmedalsandthese areentitledtoareasonable sharpofanymoneymade available.
