Oneproblemofpeoplewithmaritalproblems notusingtheserviceislackofself-esteemand self-confidence.

Thisfeelingofhelplessnessandfailureis exacerbatedbyprolongedmaritaltension.

Itisimportantthatcommunityleaders,such asdoctors,lawyersandtheclergyusetheirinfluencetogetpeopletoconsidercounsellingat anearlystageoftheirmaritalproblemandgive themrealisticexpectationsofwhatmaybe achievedbyit.

TheGovernmentisproudtohavehelpedin developingmarriagecounsellingservicesinAustraliatotheirpresentimpressivelevel.

AlatimewhentightrestraintonGovernmentexpenditureisnecessary,itispleasingto reportthatfundsmadeavailableforgrantsto approvedmarriagecounselling-organisations havecontinuedtoincrease,yearbyyear.This yeartheytotalled$2.231million.
