LET YOUR WALLS BREATHE

If you’re building a new house, or an extension, you want to bring each room into use as as soon as possible. Painting the newly built walls is often the last step in a long process that you want to be finished.

Using paint with a high level of breathability means that moisture doesn’t become ‘trapped’ beneath the surface of the paint.

Using a non-breathable paint can lead to damp walls, causing the paint to bubble, peel and eventually blow completely and contribute to a harmful living environment.

The easiest way to ensure you’re creating a sustainable, environmentally sound specification is to check the paint is Ecolabel approved.

Earthborn paints have achieved this demanding standard, which covers every aspect of a product’s manufacture, use and disposal. Because they are virtually VOC free, they do not give off any toxic emissions, so rooms can be brought into use more quickly and are much healthier for the building and its occupants.

Crocky Road has been used on these walls, combined with the turquoise of Milk Jug and White Clay on the woodwork.

‘SATELLITE™’ – POWDERTECH’S UNIQUE LUSTROUS FINISH WITH AN IRIDESCENT GLEAM

‘Satellite’ is the latest range of unique finishes from innovative powder coater Powdertech (Corby) Ltd and is made exclusively for the company to its own visual and technical requirements.

Satellite finishes have a distinctive iridescent gleam with layered metallic and pearlescent effects and a depth of colour unrivalled in a one-coat application. The name ‘Satellite’ occurred to Powdertech as soon as the team saw the initial samples. The mid-sheen finish with vibrant flashes of light set in a rich colour is intense, “Like a million satellites in the sky,” said Richard Besant, Powdertech Director. The individual names are taken from the hundreds of manmade satellites that orbit the Earth.

Achieving colours with depth and lustre was the key objective. “Many of our customers want the gleaming metallic look that anodising provides, but without the frustrations they experience with anodic coatings, “explained Richard Besant. “We set out to develop a finish that celebrates the beauty of metal with a layered iridescent effect. The result was Satellite” Amron Architectural, the metal mesh specialist, is particularly pleased with the effect that Satellite finishes have on its profiled sheet and metal mesh where the undulating surface is enhanced as light bounces off the glittering finish.

Satellite finishes conform to BS EN 12206-1 standards and Qualicoat specifications. With excellent durability and colour stability they are suitable for internal and external applications.

In November 2022 Powdertech will be expanding the range to offer rich shades that include red, orange and dark gold.
