Klitmøller Folk Hojskole Regional Boarding School This project was undertaken whilst I spent a semester abroad in Denmark, studying at the Aarhus School of Architecture. The themes for the semester was specifically on housig, habitation, tectonics, building culture and design for disassembly. These themes were set within a project on the North Western end of Denmark in a small town called Klitmoller, or ‘Cold Hawaii’, and the project was a ‘Folk Hojskole’, a boarding school for young up-and-coming surfers.

My year-long thesis was an exploration into the connections between creativity and the built environment. Set within the context of Newcastle, as a post-industrial city with a growing creative movement and declining Renew Newcastle initiative.
