Friends of the SCHOOL OF ARCHITECTURE
CORINTHIAN ORDER
Donors who provide an annual gift of $25,000 fill a very important leadership role as Friends at the Corinthian Order level. These Friends dramatically impact the School while honing an enduring legacy at OSU with the creation of a new named endowment, or by adding to an existing named fund.
IONIC ORDER
The Friends at the Ionic Order level provide an annual gift of $5,000 or greater. These gifts fund the immediate need for student scholarships, as well as support a variety of enrichment opportunities such as class field trips, student organization conference attendance, and other such impactful endeavors.
DORIC ORDER
With an annual gift of $1,000 or more, the important group of Friends at the Doric Order level support initiatives of the school that help maintain the daily quality of life for students in the School of Architecture. These gifts support studio competition fees, food for student events, etc.
HELLO FRIENDS
The School of Architecture depends upon the gifts of alumni to help create the sense of community and provide the educational enrichment opportunities that we all remember fondly from our time as students - field trips to interesting locations as varied as the WW Steel plant and the Kimbell Museum, group project model base constructions, student organization meetings with pizza, travel to national conferences with classmates, and so forth. These many ‘day in the life’ events coalesce each class of peers and brighten our collective college careers at the School of Architecture. It is our duty as alumni to ensure that this quality of experience remains in place for each new generation of students that begins their path with us at OSU.
With the decline in state support for higher education, earning a college degree today is even more dependent upon financial assistance provided through student scholarships. Most students find that their education and potential future career as an architect or architectural engineer is only made possible because of their family savings with additional help from financial aid through loans. A scholarship can allow a student to purchase the newest tool or software subscription, or perhaps not have to work so many hours in a service job while enrolled full time at the School of Architecture. Current endowments with the School of Architecture provide approximately one fifth of our students with a $1000 to $2000 scholarship each year. We must do better than this. With alumni help, our goal is to double our endowments within five years, so we can provide scholarships for more than a third of our students.
Joining the “Friends of the School of Architecture” allows alumni like you an annual opportunity to demonstrate that an education from Oklahoma State has enriched your life and provided a brighter future for your family. Paying this forward ensures a steady stream of OSU graduates follow in your footsteps, and fortifies the future of our profession. Thank you!
We are grateful that our alumni seek ways to reconnect with the School of Architecture. To that end, below are some ways to do so - we hope you will assist the School and our mission to cultivate a collaborative learning community focused upon critical thinking and ethical responsibility. Our vision is to empower students to make creative contributions in the cause of Architecture!
