Creation of a new central axis from the exit of I-75 into Downtown Toledo will take you underneath the historic courthouse to connect straight through to I-280, turn off onto Cherry St., or enter Toledo Envision Hubs underground parking facility. Making way through commercial and retail establishments heading up to cityscape defines new purpose into One Government Center. Superimposed over a collision point of the cities five grids, the teardrop now signifies a connection, a new focal point for bringing life back to the diminishing city. Intersecting this newly defned infrastructure axis, installation of tributaries leading from the riverside up to the courthouse, where water is then circulating with pedestrians, as government center transforms into an open, urban public space.
