+ Competition, Busan Opera House . Full time . RADU Architects . 2011 3d modeling, digital drawings, diagram strategy overall view The site of the opera provides an opportunity to create a space that is both a beacon that can be seen from the city or water and a space from which to see the city. Its location on a newly formed island creates the perfect vantage point to appreciate the city of Busan. In the spatial arrangement of the opera massing views toward the city are the primary parameter. The buildings are oriented to allow views toward the bridge, the Busan tower, the war memorial, and Busan's tallest tower. Cuts in the building skin from areas of public programs look out to various points in the city. And there are views through the site both through the lobby and through the public plaza at the ground level. This lodges the new building squarely within the existing context of the city.

It will provide needed extra studio, cafe, gallery and library for AAP students. As it is, the extention project would function the urban campus life in Manhattan. The research for sun shading makes the reasonable physical space for semi-detached structure in Manhattan. Open space between buildings delivers enough sunlight to utilize multi-program in building.

It turns into the artificial landscape which keeps the same level to the new urban park and acts as green public space. Landscape area functions as an extended High Line park and gallery buillding in center area has different orientations from the physical shape. + Design Thesis . Cornell M.Arch 1 . Fall 2009 The Highline project turned an unused piece of infrastructure into a park that will provide needed open space for urban life. As it is, the Highline in section 1 seems to function well in aspects of providing a green open space to the public. The area needs to be revitalized by through different use. The catalyst is the Highline’s development. The role of Highline supplies something valuable for the public as well as for the private. It is the interaction between the private and the public; at the same time it is an intervention to the urban fabric.

+ Design Studio . Cornell M.Arch 1 . Spring 2009 Inspired by the condition of Las Vegas, the main goal of this project is to research the hydrological environment in site and to build residential district in center of Las Vegas. The existing condition of Las Vegas has the severe water shortage and flash flood every three years. By investigating the water bifurcation via the sewerage, my team builds the water control system as well as the road structure.

+ Design Studio . Cornell M.Arch 1 . Fall 2007 The main goal of this project is to make physical space in Ithaca based on the research of urban topology from Berlin. After researching Berlin State Library, I found the folding mechanism in that building. In department building I installed parts of building plan between partitions in studio. In process of TOPO +FIC, I superimposed the part of floor plan of Berlin State Library into site in Ithaca. The shape fits to the site condition which has the height difference from the gorge. In process of ITHACA COM+RES, I put the commercial program in site. The linear path which cuts through the typical building connects the access from the different level in site.

+ Competition Work . EVOLO Skyscraper . Spring 2007 The main goal of this project is to build skyscraper which focused on technological advances, sustainability, and innovative design for the future.
site Basically, old Skyscraper is considered by the volumetric growth of the vertical spaces as a result of the shortage of horizontal ones in city. Thus, new Skyscraper we suggest here, Urban Sponge, assimilates straggling medium-scale offices, which have occupied residential area, to offer residence horizontal public spaces sufficiently. In Urban Sponge shaped by the layers of the absorbed offices, at the same time, remain ordinary residential spaces as newly public voids for a group of the office. That is, it would be used for both the structure to support Urban Sponge and the space to build the infra-structure. In site in which office and residential area coexist would Urban Sponge be generated and devide clashed programs into each area.
Unit 01: office blocks
Unit 02: green core
Unit 03: vertical street
Absorbed office units are staced block by block with generating same amount of volumes of what the blocks had.
The voids which were residence spaces start to generate core space, rolling as vertical structure and the green space inbetween offices.
The streets between blocks are regenerated as the verticalinfrastructure and form the structural facade of Urban Sponge.

+ Competition Work . SPACE competition . Oct 2003 The main goal of this project is to build the water museum in virtual space ‘100m x 100m.’ origami process
physical model
100m x 100m's water, and a mass like floating water. To approach structure road walking upside of water is reminded of 'OASIS'. A mass of forming symbolizes a vessel to fill a water. This museum, proposed to represent competition’s issue OASIS, symbolize just a filtering-water system in which people hang around and look water’s lifetime. The architectural features of the project come out of an attempt to capture prominent movement from paper’s angle soaked in water.
sketches
The participants are obliged to present a candidate work implementing the theme OASIS or water for the ecology of the global community in the future.

Proposal for International Ideas Competiton
Seoul Performing Arts Center professional works at SKM Design Jun. 2005
The Seoul Metropolitan City that has experienced the economic miracle of the Hangang(River) has now decided to focus its attention on the improvement of the quality of life in the city. *Access to the Nodeul Island and the proposed Performing Arts Center. *Landscape design of the Island *Land use considering floods *Noise disturbance by the arterial road and the neighboring railroad bridge.
INVOLVEMENT: 3D graphic design
The Opera house and the concert hall are placed in one shell structure and seperated in two masses, in order to share many common facilities and utilitarian programs. It tries to hint the idea od unification of north and south Korea. The Sky garden which connects the east and west of the site over the ‘Hangang Daegyo’houses the parking spaces and pedestrian’s path. there are five proposed gardens throughout the ‘Nodeul Island’ and the people’s walkway circulating the whole site. The Sky garden interlock the water of Han-river landscape of the island, the Opera house, the vertical concert hall, and ve ertical and horizontalpedestrian avis.
