EDUCATION
HELLO
I am a recent Master graduate in Sustainable Architecture & Landscape Design from Politecnique University of Milan. After graduating from my first Masters studies in Shahid Beheshti University in Tehran, Iran & working with United Nations as a Disaster Risk Reduction Consultant, I decided to deapen my knowledge about sustainablity in Italy, for it was long known as the best place for architecture. Due to my background, my approach to architecture & Landscape Design is to plan and design resilient spaces while bringing life, human interaction & aesthetics to the public places. Painting is also my passion & I have had solo exhibitions in Iran & Italy in recent years. I enjoy using my creativity to bring to life what I imagine to serve humanity to have better experience. whether its a painting, a building or a public space.

PARCO MAGGIORE DI PIACENZA
Development of the Northern Sector of Piacenza by reconnecting the city with nature

PROJECT OVERVIEW
The current project aims at bring back the lost connection of Piacenza city to the nature from the urban fabric in city center towards Po River by both soft and hard interventions. A park is designed as a transition point between the city center and the nature. The park, Parco Maggio re, consistS of an active urban park in the place of abandoned military areas hosting different events, sports, playground, amphiteatre, etc and a more natural part between the river and this park. In order to make sure this connec tion is safe for pedestrians some revisions in the transportation network was made: mov ing the railway underground, removing some roads and move the traffic to other roads or making them more pedestrian friendly.

The site is situated on the waterfront in Avenza, currently occupied by open spaces that extends around a group of residential buildings on Viale Giovanni da Verrazzano. It also includes the riverbanks to the extent of the industrial areas.
Due to the high impact of marble industry, and other important industries such as General Electrics and the Carrara port, the site is full of heavy trucks and the environment is polluted with noise and dust which is not very pleasant for the inhabitants. The site is not very well organized for daily human activities. The waterfront, a reclaimed land, acting as a wave breaker and in the same time is active, but it needs to be designed and organized. The landscape proposals asso ciated with this development, is to pixelate the river banks by adding transversal artificial enlargement and reclamation of the missing natural riverbed, where we have potential abandoned areas in order to reduce the flood risk; also to develop wetlands and other green and gray infrastructure systems to reduce the pollution of the river especially because it pours into the sea. In case of human activities and sense of place, refining the beach area and adding some soft open spaces and vegetation are some of the measurements proposed. A limited and pedestrian friendly network concerning the vehicular transportation, while re connecting dead-end roads to become more frequented, is reinforced. By this mean, Viale Giovanni di Verrazzano is reconnected with the main road of Via delle Pinete. Land cover in the site and the surroundings is proposed to become more porous and permeable enabling water infiltration into the soil, reducing as much as possible flood effect and filtering polluted water. Phytoremediation is a perfect example. This decision was the result of an analysis concluding a high percentage of impermeable cover and higher heat island.
ISSUES:
1. WATER POLLUTION
2. FLOOD RISK
3. ENDANGERED BIODIVERSITY
4. LACK OF PROPER PUBLIC SPACE
5. POOR PEDESTRIAN ACCESSIBILTY
6. IMPROPER MIXTURE OF ACTIVITIES IN THE AREA (INDUSTRIAL VS. RESIDENTIAL)
7. LACK OF SAFETY BECAUSE OF HEAVY TRANSPORTATION SYSTEMS IN THE SITE (AC TIVE RAILWAY+HEAVY TRUCKS)
POTENTIALS:
1. ACCESS TO LOCAL MATERIALS SUCH AS MARBLE
2. ABANDONED SITES AROUND CARRIONE RIVER
3. NICE VIEWS TO THE MOUNTAINS AND THE SEA
4. ACTIVE BEACH AREA STRATEGIES:
The concept longs for a space and a missing connection between the lines of residential & industrial buildings, the views of marble quarries & the sea, and the connection between the two existing ecosystems of Carrione river and the water channel.

PROJECT OVERVIEW
In this project, Piacenza is considered as a case study to envision a new urban question. Piacenza a city of around 100,000 Inhabitants in Emilia Romagna Re gion, like many other cities in Italy is facing the same problem of climate change, and of new challenges related to circular economies. The interventions in this project are based on different analysis and critical mappings. We see Piacenza as a city where we have many available areas, such as the abandoned military domains and abandoned industrial areas.
In this project Piacenza is envisioned through two main scenarios. One goes to the “Mobility Shift” and the other one goes to “Clean Energies and Sustainable Neighborhoods”.
Potential areas are those who can be developed or connected to eachother to keep the connec tion between attraction areas for the inhabitants & visitors by means of public transports & also transferring the abandoned areas to the places that attract people & going towards having multiple centralities in Piacenza.
STRATEGIES
1. MULTIPLYING PUBLIC SPACES AND OPEN SPACES
2. ENHANCING SLOW MOBILITY (PEDESTRIAN AND BICYCLE LANES)
3. SUGGESTING PEDESTRIAN ORIENTED INFRASTRUCTURE SYSTEM
4. ADOPTING A CIRCULAR SUSTAINABLE ECONOMY
5. REQUALIFYING THE MOTOR WAY (EAST AND WEST CORRIDOR)
