Description This ball room is taking over the site of an old metal recycling plant. After analyzing that the town of Ponce is not taking advantage of the sea view it possesses, and the lack of a formal space that would incorporate nature, Caribbean Vaudeville came to be.

Form Development First Recess the main volume to combine indoor & outdoor spaces with a slope that flows to the advantage of the coastal site.
Seccond Aknoledgement of the green context proposed, incorporate & maximize green material to the outdoor space in the building.
Third Identify points of interest and give geometrical direction to the views creating 2 panoramas, whithin the site and outside of it.

Professor Pagán, José
Description The PaL - SHACK concept is to raise a house that can be easily assembled by anyone with basic carpentry knoledge. It’s desing is focused on functionality, starting with the American Pallet standarized dimmensions, each space, door, window, and system is created to fit and easily connect one to another.

Assembly Logistic First Make a solid of the negatives of the standard American Pallet.
Seccond After main framing is installed, slide pallets into studs.
Third Lock all walls with 4”x2”
beam pn top of the studs.
The principal idea was inspired by the IKEA vision “For the many people”; making desings functional, affordable and easy to put togather basically to anyone who is not very familiar with any type of engeneering, carpentry, or any other field related to furniture assembly.

Model Process and Description Using Matboard, Lollypop Sticks, Kebab Sticks and Basswood Sticks a model was created to physically demonstrate how pallets would conjoin eachother, as well as the structural logistic of the house The constructed model for this project was composed with Basswood Sheets, Basswood Sticks, Matboard and Acrylic Paint. The tecnical skills used was a combination of a lasser cutter (pallet pattern and pieces smaller than 1/2”) & raised hand (main basswood “columns”, window frames and roofing).

Description This proyect’s goal is to conjoin the visitor with the local comunity, taking advantage of the already ocurring activities at the site where locals meet up to enjoy cold beverages, traditional puertorrican music and street cuisine. Aside from the use and social response, this hostal meant to be an “object building” that breaks the colonialcontext with an outstanding geometry and materials that are abruptly expressed.

Form Development First The inspiration came from an inverted terrace building because I wanted more people to have a better view (higher).
Seccond Aknoledging the tructura challenge if overhang floors on such a scale, the “inverted terraces were smoothed out.
Third After researching the types or Iron that would resist, the inverted sloped was corrected to a realistic angle.

Course Ecological Principles in the Built Environment
Professor Berrios,Giovanna
Description This project consisted on a summary and ideal implementations provided by the USDA (United Stated Department of Agriculture) that help us develop responsibly and implement certaintrategies in architectural designs. Keeping in mind that ecology is the study of the relation of all subjects and objects, good or bad it implies the analysis of the cause and effect on nature. Nature is interpreted as all flora, fauna, landscape and climate but we tend to forget that we (humans) play part of this equation as well. https://www.fs.usda.gov/nac/buffers/index.html

Schematic Proposal
When roads bisect wildlife corridors, a safe passage must be provided through vaults, bridges, overpasses or any combination of these. This avenue ruptured a patch and land biodiverity cannot cross, only birds that don't have predators can. By elevating the street at least 20 ft. it will allow for nature to conquistate again and create a new corridor.

More Habitats
These areas provide woody waste for the aquatic habitat structure, maintain the microclimate of the current, provide food for aquatic species, and protect water quality. This river is canalized and a trail was constructed as well but as it is, the river does not have all the good attributes to have good or any biodiversity in it. With a with of 80 ft. there will be more biodiversity.

The plants withdraw air pollutants by absorption through leaves and by interception of airborne particles. Locate the buffer zone near the source of noise and it is imperative to not leave any clears so it works properly. The vegetation used should be od a medium to big leaf.

34 Some Activities
Licensing Exam
We started hosting online conferences and interviews (due to COVID 19) where we discussed certain topics with the experienced. One of the most fructiferous was a dialoge with Arch. María Escalona who recently passed the licensing exam. Before this, I did various “story posts” on Instagram and Facebook so that our comunity could express concerns or doubts on the process, which helped me formulate specific questions, so that Escalona could provide detailed explanations.

35 Atalladora Beach (a.k.a. Ballenas)
Located in coast of the town of Yauco, it is accessed by the neighbor town Guรกnica. This beach forms part of the only dry forrest in Puerto Rico. The accessibility is very much remote, there is pavement but the surroundings are dessertic.
El Yerta River
La Poza Del Obispo
Located in the town of Villalba, this water cascade is deep into the mountains. Few know how to get there and locals are very cautios who they give directions to because it is surrounde by a lot of native fruit trees that they pick up to sell.
Located in coast of the town of Arecibo, this sheer site is not only a pleasant view, it is home to many endemic species that like in small caves. It is also rich in corals and arrecife.
