Volunteer Opportunities

The 2015 Dental Assistant Volunteer Program was a rigorous workload for the Volunteer Hours

applicants. The purpose of the program was to provide a marketable training opportunity for Red Cross volunteers while providing volunteer assistance for the

Dental Clinics at Sigonella. The 6 month program had two components: classroom instruction and clinical chair-side rotations. The classroom instruction covered clerical work, radiology, infection control, and training procedures specific to NAS Sigonella.

Three of the Red Cross Volunteers rose to the challenge, and graduated from the program. Mariela Russell, Helena Brown, and Herlinda Garcia dedicated 1,648 Sigonella American Red Cross NAS1, Bldg 318, Rm 1201 624.4900

hours to the training and chair-side assisting the Dental Clinics. They averaged 336-40 hours per week learning the curriculum, working beside the military, and expanding on their skills. Once again, congratulations graduates!
