learning bicycle safety. The Red Cross set up a bicycle course near the Marinai Soccer fields that taught traffic navigation, hand signaling, and figure 8 skills. Jerry Richardson and YNC Matthew Leibfreid, from the local H.O.G. chapter, assisted with teaching proper traffic safety. They brought their motorcycles for bike enthusiasts, and discussed the differences between bicycles and motorcycles on the road. MA2 Harold Howard and MA3 Lafitte Holmes were available to answer questions on the

services they provide during base functions and how they were trained. CPO Anthony Tatasciore inspected member’s bicycles and corrected any deficiencies; they also advised on how best to take care of the bike.

Upcoming Events June DAAP Information Fair

Volunteer OpportuniƟes DAAP Information Fair June 10 from 1300-1500 DAAP will be hosting an information fair. We are looking for volunteers to help promote Red Cross programs in Sigonella, CPR / First Aid Training, and volunteerism at Midtown NAS I.

World’s Largest Swim Day June 18th is designed as the Nation’s Largest Swim Day! Come out and join us at the

World’s Largest Swim Day CPR/FA/AED Class

NAS I pool from 0800-1900. MWR will be teaching simple swimming techniques, and pool safety. The Red Cross will have an information booth. Bring your swim gear! Can’t wait to see you there!

CPR/FA/AED Class June 20 from 0900-1630 at the Red Cross Classroom for $55. Please contact the office to register.

July Color Run

Color Run On July 4 from 0630-1100 at Marinai, Volunteers are requested to help set up and assist during the Color Run, sponsored by MWR Navy Fitness. There will be a volunteer meeting on July 2 at the Youth Complex in Marinai at 5pm.
