Hello! I’m Deva...
“
I'd like to introduce myself as a young aspiring architect engaged to a global society. I believe in the ability of architecture and research combined with design thinking for strengthening our societies and having a positive effect on the world. The duty we have with others and the power of architecture as a medium of change in society. For me architecture is all about designing socially, culturally and environmentally responsible spaces. I support sustainable architecture over spectacular architecture, but value the role of innovation.

01 Auditorium SRM Project Location: Amaravati, Pradesh Project Area: 13000 Sq. ft Year: 2020
Andhra
It is a multipurpose auditorium with movable/stackable seating; the hall can be used either as an indoor stadium or as auditorium space for 2000 capacity. The initial volume of the hall is 21,623 cum; after critical analysis, we reduced the volume to 12,169 cum using a false ceiling. The profile of the roof is designed in such a way as to minimize the reverberation time at the same to enhance the spread of early reflections. The location of the diffusers is placed carefully to get uniform sound distribution throughout the hall. The stage has angular ceiling reflectors to direct the live sound to a longer distance. The shape of the diffusers will change parametrically from the background to the rear portion. The sidewall of the stage also has a lot of scattered diffusers to blend the sound uniformly in the performance area.

02 NPTEL Classroom IIT Madras Project Location: Chennai, Tamilnadu Project Area: 3315 Sq. ft Year: 2021 That’s an Acoustical project of 2 classrooms and a recording studio with control rooms. Acoustic treatment of soundproofing was done all over the rooms. On execution of the project, the placement of AC ducts after the ceiling completion was a challenging phase. Electrical wiring, window treatments, and board placements were secured appropriately while achieving the acoustical design on site.
03 Moorthy Kalayarangam Project Location: Kumbakonam, Tamilnadu Project Area: 13900 Sq. ft Year: 2019 Marriage hall with 1200 capacity, the volume of the hall is 7934 cum. The campus is located in the heart of traditional town Kumbakonam. Hence, the hall is acoustically designed to cater to traditional Hindu weddings’ classical music, orchestra, and Mangala isai. The wall panels are split and blended well with the HVAC and interior design. Further, the absorptive and reflective panels are designed to reinforce the early reflections and eliminate the delayed reflections.
04 Apartment at ECR
Project Location: ECR, Chennai Project Area: 5000 Sq. ft Year: Onprogress from 2019
Plan - Ground Floor
The apartment has four living units three 2 BHK’s and one 4 BHK. The client’s approach to the facade was a minimalistic one. That’s the only choice to go for minimal material in the facade design. The CNC panel used in the facade was designed to add uniqueness to the structure and solve the purpose of the duct. The materials used were minimal, and the lighting design adds beauty to the form.

05 Yasin’s Residence
Project Location: Sathur, Tamilnadu Project Area: 5000 Sq. ft Year: 2021 The client is Mr. Yasin, a professor settling in Chennai. Being a Muslim, the main concern was to design their home, just the rear side of a Hindu temple (as they often cook non-veg foods). Apart from these, their needs were a small office room, separate bedrooms for his two daughters, and a home theatre. There was a unique staircase design with double-story height and balcony space, where privacy was also achieved. While solving that main concern, Vastu was diagonally recovered, where we get the kitchen in the front part of the home instead of the rear end.

06 Latha and Navin’s Residence Project Location: Chennai, Tamilnadu Project Area: 1000 Sq. ft Year: 2021 The project was with two clients, one with the user requirements while the other deals with the budget and the style. The biggest challenge faced in the project was client satisfaction throughout the whole design phase. Especially the color theme for the interior was big clash. It was challenging to convince the client who prefers the magenta pink and leaf green for the room interior without color psychology. Apart from these, the dining area was a spacesaving design as space was shared with the pooja unit.

07 Kavya’s Residence Project Location: Villupuram, Tamilnadu Type: Interior Design Year: 2021 The client approached with the provision for wall tiles in the interior. Modern, Costeffective, Ethnic were the design ideas of the client. The living room and the pooja room was more emphasized the unique design concepts. The living room was treated with a showcase & a TV unit, while the Pooja room was designed to be a small mandir. A background study of temple elements was done before the design proposal.
08 Rajesh’s Residence Project Location: Villupuram, Tamilnadu Type: Facade design Year: 2021 It was a contractor dealt house. As the client was not satisfied with the 6-7 elevations from the contractor, it was approached with user-centric design strategies. The client wished to have a contemporary look with a traditional touch. Bringing ethnicity of the home in the facade, material choice gave a helping hand. Terracotta finish with a rustic look paved the way for a unique design.
09 Residence at Theran Nagar Project Location: Pollachi, Tamilnadu Type: Facade design Year: 2021 The client was not satisfied with the contractor’s approach of having a similar facade design in all of his projects, only minimal changes. Being in Pollachi, Coimbatore, the site was amidst nature. Cost-effective, more civil work, minimal materials were the concerns from the client-side. Thus, the design was achieved with grooves & paint finishes and a unique design with a color theme as an end product.
