In this guide, you will learn the basics of editing with Final Cut Pro. You will learn how to import footage to final cut pro library, adding footage you desire to edit, editing the footage with the options Trim tool, Blade tool, & Range selection tool. This guide will also tell you where to locate the effects and how to apply them to your footage.

1. The first you want to do is import your recorded data to final cut pro library. The image below will instruct you in how to do so.

You then click the select button

Then you go to your library, select the footage you would like to use and drag it on the film strip to edit.


Editing the footage These are the basic editing tools used to edit film clips in Final Cut Pro. This tool allows you to select other options/tools. This tool allows you to trim video footage to the length you desire and to the start finish points you desire This tool enables you to select a specific range in a video clip.

This tool enables you to cut into parts of your choice to either remove, drag to a different position or to give the clip a different effect.

This tool enables you to zoom in and out of the clips, making the editing to perfection a lot more easier.

By selecting this option, you will come across these editing tools.


Affects

Your effects are located in the area shown by the arrow. To apply the effect to your footage, you select the selection tool (keyboard shortcut ‘A’) and then click on the effect and drag it to the footage.
