Army Volunteer Corps Program (AVC)

Please make sure all of your volunteer hours are updated in VMIS so that we can make sure all of our volunteers get the credit for their outstanding contributions to our Yongsan-Casey and K-16 communities. Army Family Action Plan
The Army Family Action Plan (AFAP) is your platform to voice quality-of-life issues, feedback, ideas, and suggestions. It’s the best way to let Army leadership know about what works, what doesn’t, and how you think problems can be resolved.

Family Advocacy Program (FAP) 738-7505
Education for Professionals: Training for first responders & mandated reporters (Child and Youth Services, Medical, and Law enforcement personnel) and other community agencies on the identification, reporting, and treatment of domestic and child abuse; the referral process; available programs, services, and resources.
Stress Management:
An interactive session to assist participants to recognize the symptoms, causes, and effects of stress and introduce an array of stress management techniques.
Anger/Conflict Management:
An interactive session to assist participants to recognize the symptoms, causes, and effects of anger and learn an array of anger management/ conflict resolution strategies and techniques.
Successful Co- Parenting (After or Before Divorce):
Divorce is a challenging experience for both parents and their children. Many states require parenting courses that helps increase knowledge and resiliency in families that will be experiencing co-parenting. This class may meet your state requirements.
Emergency Placement Care Training:
Are you looking for a way to make a difference in your community? Providing a temporary safe home to children at risk of abuse and neglect may be an option for you. Please contact the Family Advocacy Program Manager at 738-7505.

Victim Advocacy Program
Required annually training for Soldiers, Senior Leaders, & Commanders IAW AR 608-18, Army Family Advocacy Program. Educates individuals on the dynamics of domestic and child abuse; command policy; community programs, services, resources; the identification, reporting, and referral process. Relocation Program
Lending Closet - If you are In/Out-Processing and need essentials like pots and pans, coffee maker and other kitchen items until your HHGs arrive or after your HHGs are picked up, stop by and borrow from our lending closet for up to 30 days. Financial Readiness Program
One-on-one counseling and group education on personal finance is provided for Soldiers, Family members, and civilians in support of Unit Commanders, First Sergeants, FRGs, and more.

Budgeting Class. Do you have new Soldiers to your unit whose first duty station in the Army is K-16 or Yongsan? November has two major consumer awareness observances for us to focus on the financial areas of our organized or maybe currently not so organized lives.
15-21 November: International Fraud Awareness Week. When was the last time you checked your credit report? Did you know the Financial Readiness Program Manager at K-16 has access to a FINRA Educator’s Code to assist Active Duty Soldiers and their Spouses receive a Free FICO Credit Score and Analysis Tool? Go to www.saveandinvest.org and click on For the Military Featured Tool: myFICO to find out more about the program. Note: Financial Counselor cannot give out code and must enter the code for you. Contact Financial Counselor at joanna.martinez-vasquez.civ@mail. mil to arrange your credit report access and review. November is National Scholarship month. The Financial Counselor has a list of potential scholarships for Service Members, Veterans, and Dependents. Army Emergency Relief (AER) – Soldiers Taking Care of Soldiers
AER provides emergency financial assistance to active duty service members, their families, and retired service members and is located with ACS Financial Readiness. Please contact ACS at 738-7505. If it is after hours, on a weekend or holiday, Emergency Financial Assistance can be obtained from AER through the American Red Cross Call Center 1-877-272-7337 (or from DSN: 94 then 877-272-7337). Financial Readiness Program Manager and AER Officer is available at K-16. Contact ACS at 738-8861or 738-7505 for dates.

Military & Family Life Consultant Program
MFLC’s provide short term non-medical, situational, problem-solving counseling services to Service Members and their families. Licensed counselors are available to meet individuals, couples, families or groups, and can meet anywhere on base except in housing. All services are confidential and no records are maintained.
