Sri Aurobindo Nivas trasioned from private to public equity using different design principles which enhanced the theme of sprituality and a unique character in the semi sacer space. The colonial archtiectural style gives an understanding of how foreign elements can be incoporated through the use if passive climatic strategies. LOUIS I KAHN TROPHY Jetavan is a spiritual and skill development center built by KJ Somaiya Center for Buddhist studeis, for native Baudh Ambedkar Community. The design was undertaken by Ar. Sameep Padora and associates. The Jetavan Center makes the most of both new and old techniques an assemblage of traditional, modern and developed building processes and materials, its design shows an understanding that architecture is inherent with the potential for expression, through engaging with the layered realms of history, material and knowledge of place.

ANDC 2020-2021

The brief was to design a bus terminus that functions efficiently in the scenario of the pandemic.the challenge was to maitain physical distance between the commuters but also socially connecting them. The major approch towards design was to modify existing infrastrucutre which can be faster solution and the module can be adopted anywhere in the city .

SECTION A A’

Existing bus shelters are subjected to unorganized overflowing crowd, which makes physical distancing a challenge.

SECTION B B’ Andheri bus depot is urbanised and hence acts as an influx for pedestrians. but due to the availability of transport vehicles and hawkers most of the crowd is stagnated.

A two way ramp is designed in a manner that incidentally divides the users.

Alternate level rise Collective implementation of queues and seating

Alternate level rise

Alternate seating arrangement.

Seating arrangement acting as a guide for organizing the queues in zig zag pattern, so as to maintain physical distance .The users at the forefront of the queue are provided with seatings whereas the rest of the queue occupies the space behind seating. this binary arrangement accomodates greater number of users within the shelter. Designated pockets for hawkers incorporated within the bus shelter.

Dedicated seatings for senior citizens for easy accessibility to bus

PLAN

SERVICES OF BUS TERMINUS Unorganized movement of users in existing crammed bus shelters
