THE ULTIMATE ENDURANCE TEST 19 JUMPS | 3 MILES | 2 FURLONGS
Welcome to Doncaster Racecourse, we are delighted you’ve joined us here today for some mid-week afternoon jumps racing and we would like to thank our sponsors Virgin Bet for their generous support of today’s fixture.
There are 7 races on the card and our Raceday presenter Bobby Beevers and resident tipster Roger Hart will be in the parade ring around 12.25pm to run through the racecard with you and hopefully pick out some of your winners!
The Grimthorpe Chase is coming up on Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd March and is the penultimate jumps fixture at Town Moor. Run at Doncaster each year, the Grimthorpe Chase is a National Hunt steeplechase that contains 19 jump fences. The distance has varied over time but currently sits at a little over 3 miles and 2 furlongs Considered the ultimate endurance test, this race is seen as a trial for the Aintree Grand National in April, as many winners (such as Moroder and Does He Know) have gone to be favourites in the Merseyside race
Join us on Friday 14th March and experience all the thrills of Cheltenham – without the price tag! This is the last jumps fixture at Town Moor and we’ll be showing the Cheltenham Festival live on our screens. The day will also feature an Irish twist with dancers from Nadine Martin Academy of Irish Dancing entertaining you throughout the day.
On Saturday 29th March, Doncaster Racecourse officially opens the British Turf Flat racing season with the William Hill Lincoln meeting. Our Lincoln Family Fun Day is on Sunday 30th March and will include free entertainment and activities for the whole family including a circus workshop, character appearances, Shetland pony racing, a magician, a colouring station, a reading corner and much more!
2025 Annual Memberships are now on sale and offers entry to 500+ fixtures across Arena Racing Company racecourses, four free guest passes, four free racecards, auto-enrolment into the ARC Racing Club for a taste of racehorse ownership, access to attend a variety of reciprocal fixtures and events, plus much more. Full details and terms and conditions can be found at www.doncaster-racecourse co.uk/doncaster-racecourse/annualmembership
We hope you enjoy your day here with us on Town Moor and as always, we welcome any feedback you may have

Each horse has been given a star rating, these are defined below:
HHHHH Selected to win the race
HHHHI Good chance of being placed.
HHHII By no means out of the reckoning but at least one or two hold stronger claims HHIII Unlikely to win but not totally without hope. HIIII Can be given little or no chance.
The BHA Handicappers allot ratings to horses once they have taken part in a sufficient number of races to enable the Handicappers to make a numerical assessment of each horse’s ability.
The principal purpose of the ratings is to determine the weight to be carried by each runner in handicap races, with the Handicappers aiming to provide each participant with an equal chance based on its best recent form under its optimum conditions A horse rated 100, for example, would be set to carry 1lb more than a horse rated 99 (ignoring any penalties or allowances).
The ratings published in the racecard for handicap races are the ratings that were used to calculate the weight to be carried by each horse, whilst in non-handicaps races the rating shown is that of each runner at the time that the entries for the race were confirmed. Any subsequently published change to a rating, either up or down, is shown in brackets following the rating.
