Saline County Farm Bureau Scholarship The name of the scholarship is SALINE COUNTY FARM BUREAU SCHOLARSHIP. Recipients must be Saline County Farm Bureau members for the current year and for the previous year. Arkansas residency is required. Saline County residency is preferred, but not required. Annual scholarship funds will be budgeted at $2,000 so that two (2) $1,000 scholarships may be awarded at $500 per semester. Changes regarding the amounts indicated above may be changed as desired by Saline County Farm Bureau Board of Directors. Previous scholarship winners may re-apply and will do so without preference. Scholarship checks will be written to the recipient AND to the college or university after verification of enrollment of the recipient. Agriculture or Family and Consumer Science (Home Economics) students will receive preferred consideration. Enrollment must be in an Arkansas college or university. Minimum grade point requirement will be a 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 base to maintain the scholarship for any semester. A minimum of 12 semester hours is required to be considered for the scholarship. Recipients will be announced at the honors assemblies in the spring of the year.
A Scholarship Committee consisting of at least three (3) persons will be appointed by the Saline County Farm Bureau Board President, annually, and it will be charged with all duties necessary to present its recommended scholarship winners to the board. The committee will consist of one (1) Saline County Farm Bureau member, (1) Saline County Farm Bureau member at large and (1) educational professional in Arkansas. The committee as a minimum will take into consideration the items listed below in its scholarship selection process.
